It’s believe, with my very limited understanding, it has to do with equipment you have working together with other equipment you have.
Does equipment from one OEM not work best with other equipment from the same OEM?
I understand you can pick and choose, but sometimes with compatibility issues.

- Comment on Would it be weird if I took something my neighbor put out for trash? 1 month ago:
Except in Germany. Anything put outside for refuse collection is considered property of the town or city.
Taking something from the pile is punished as theft, and if caught, you will be fined.

I wouldn’t suggest GIMP to anybody: Photopea. It is very similar to Photoshop and is a webapp.

Aside from pirating, if you got Windows with a new pc/laptop, then you paid for Windows in the price of the device.

- Comment on Why haven't car manufacturers standardized automatic brake lights when a built in accelerometer detects deceleration? 4 months ago:
It’s a fact.
I’m a truck driver in Germany, and even my Volvo truck turns the hazards on under hard braking.
In Europe it is required for vehicles decelerating faster than 6metres/s^2^ and I believe some vehicles might activate their fog tail lights too.

- Comment on Swiss hydrogen-powered train sets 1741-mile record for nonstop travel 7 months ago:
Long haul trucking batteries will likely be at cost parity with diesel trucks this year.
We have 2 electric Volvo FHs with everything else speced exactly like my diesel powered Volvo FH 500 turbo compound (gearbox, final drive, tyres, cab/cab equipment). With my 1265 litre tanks, I go about 4000 kilometres - load dependant - against their max 300 kilometre range - also load dependant. It takes me 15 minutes at a fast pump to fill the tanks. It takes the EVs 30 minutes to get to 80% on a fast-charger. They cost more than double my ICE to purchase. The price has a long way to fall, ignoring the range completely. Battery powered trucks are only good for the ‘last mile’ deliveries, everything else needs to be hydrogen powered.
