- Comment on [Serious] Why do so many people seem to hate veganism? 6 months ago:
Obviously there’s the stereotype and that is what it is, but I usually get irked at the suggestion that it’s easy and an imperative. Veganism and other similar diets are an EXTREME luxury, and is only a viable option for a small percentage of the population. It would never have been an option in the past and is still not remotely an option for most humans.

I remember learning this out of curiosity in the past, but math doesnt stick in my brain unless chemistry is used as a disguise. Where can I read about this method again? Will the wiki page on Gauss get me there efficiently enough?

Maybe im just unaccustomed to games similar to it but almost every single task, from hunting to fighting or just collecting clue/items felt like a constant chore. I remember just getting my ass pounded into the ground at every encounter. I couldnt even travel without getting ambushed and just dying instantly. Every story mission with combat was a monumental task to overcome and if you died you went back sometimes several hours. And dont get me started on the part where the game wanted me to commit several hours to roleplay being a monk.

The previous game is one of the most insanely frustrating experiences in gaming I have ever had. So much potential, such poor execution. I do have high hopes for this one, however.

- Comment on What are the best Samurai period games? 8 months ago:
they had all the right ingredients but pigeonholed the combat stance mechanics too much. I wish they did the stances more like Nioh 1 & 2, it could have been amazing. Like fuck man I just want to use the wind stance kick on people without being interrupted with a tutorial message that never stops showing up trying to cajole me into using the “right stance”, fucking inane.

Lmao I realized after I posted that that it was gonna open a bit of a philosophical can of worms, and that I would quickly be neck deep. This is a very good point, and I only meant my statement to a certain extent. For the average human’s daily life, finding out that free will doesnt exist (to whichever extent you’d like to take an idea like that) wouldnt suddenly change their daily experience, and they would be able to continue to operate under the assumption that they are making meaningful choices with varied outcomes just like usual. They had this impression before the regelation that free will is not real, so their life experiences would not necessarily change after the fact (obviously it COULD change, but wouldnt as a necessity). As for the more nuanced moral implications of such a discovery/revelation, I shouldnt presume to know how that would impact the world.
