Most manufacturers use the door handle to override the electronic system. Like pulling twice or harder than usual.

I suppose they were using Altair’s whole portfolio anyways so they just bought them.
Semi-jokes aside, it looks like a good investion.

I thought they burn oil, but they just use oil instead of water.

And the comments are all “How does this have so few views?” while it has 10 times more than subscribers.
I subscribed to quite a few small channels recently.
I’m no fan that they try to show me 14 year old videos all the time, though.

Get a cheap thermometer to place in the room you’re going to heat and look how much it is off the thermostat and regulate accordingly.
Leaving one room cold while others are significantly warmer might raise the risk of mold significantly, because the warm air might cool in the cold room and condensate on the walls and windows, creating conditions for mold growth.
I look that every room is at least about 16°C as an absolute minimum in winter.

That makes sense. Youtube has mixed more and more small channels with low views into my feed for a couple of months.
- Comment on McDonald’s posts biggest decline in global sales in four years 3 weeks ago:
I went there after about five years making my own burgers or going to local burger joints.
I couldn’t believe I liked that slop in the past. I was befuddled and was convinced the patties got smaller and burgers way worse. My buddy promised me they have been the same for as long as he can remember.
The burger menu at the local store only cost a fraction more than Mc Donald’s but is multiple times better. I also have become a master at burger cooking, so that even the local stores have a hard time to compete these days, in time, price and quality.

- Comment on ‘Americans just work harder’ than Europeans, says CEO of Norway’s $1.6 trillion oil fund, because they have a higher ‘general level of ambition’ 3 weeks ago:
Working more hours doesn’t mean you’re working harder.
I have worked with a lot of people from all over the world, and Americans have stuck out by being inefficient and following instructions to the point that they don’t use their own brain anymore.
Well, it’s only a small sample size based ony own experience, but I doubt it’s any different to the CEO talking out of his ass.

- Comment on New Kindle e-readers no longer appear on computers 3 weeks ago:
First step is to make it able to transfer DRM, second is to implement it only allowing DRM.
I don’t think they would invest money into something that they wouldn’t have to change if they didn’t try to get control over your data transfers, and the only logical reason I can see is DRM. They’re expecting a return of investment for every penny they spend.
USB protocol isn’t broken, so why would they change it?
What would be reasons that make this investment worthwhile?
- Comment on New Kindle e-readers no longer appear on computers 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, until they do this:
Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) over USB Mapping
The MTP extension defined in this section provides a mapping of WMDRM: Network Devices Protocol messages to the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). The WMDRM: Network Devices Protocol extension to MTP defines operations that enable DRM-protected content to be securely transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver.

- Comment on Bike Manufacturers Are Making Bikes Less Repairable 5 weeks ago:
They look indeed very hard to service. Way too many screws, hidden cables, and propriety parts.
I’m currently looking for a non e-bike as my 2nd runner and the manufacturer. I compared their mountain ebikes with the treks and they look so much cleaner and easier to service.
So the article is wrong that it’s mainly the price that makes the difference.
