Genuinely curious, is there any major tech companies that haven’t done this? Our info is plastered everywhere nowadays due to this type of crap.
- Comment on 40-year-old delivers for DoorDash to help pay down her $100,000 student loan debt—on top of her full-time job 1 week ago:
It’s absolutely the norm. I work with loads of people who jumped ship on their degree because they couldn’t find good enough pay in the field. I’d say maybe 40% of my team is in this situation most of them over 35. One of the younglings gave up after his first semester after researching his FOS and learning he didn’t stand a fincial chance. It’s pretty fucking sad honestly. Great kid with nothing but ambition and hard work to give.
- Comment on When you do it yourself and it looks like you did it yourself lol 1 week ago:
What’s the issue, the line? Honestly looks fine if that’s the case. I don’t see anything else that sticks out but maybe in person it’s more noticeable
- Comment on Can we all agree that whatever version of predictive text we have nowadays is crap, and has been for a long time? 1 week ago:
If and of, in and on, so and no, these words keep getting corrected for eachother when it shouldn’t. I’ve tried resetting auto correct to make sure I didn’t teach it to do that.
- Comment on Roku has patented a way to show ads over anything you plug into your TV 4 weeks ago:
There’s a big difference though. Making people yell is not the same as an ad being shown similar to a screen saver. Hard to believe but most people will just not care and those who do won’t care enough to do much about it. There’s a reason ads have become to main stream and normal they’re yielding results the companies want.
A great example of how the mass majority of people not caring is look at the reaction to password sharing. Sure many people made a stink yet every single on of the platforms saw growth.
- Comment on It Appears Users Are Getting Bored With TikTok 1 month ago:
TikTok is just pushing advertisements and people who promote their shop. In-between you have 2 or 3 videos where it’s on of the few trends going around.

I like it. Keep in mind a great personality like yours is WAY more noticeable. What’s your stream info? I’d like to watch
- Comment on Microsoft's draconian Windows 11 restrictions will send an estimated 240 million PCs to the landfill when Windows 10 hits end of life in 2025 1 month ago:
I wish you were right. Instead what we will likely see is an increase in year to year E-waste until the majority is phased out into land fills.
- Comment on How does employing a rapist not constitute an unsafe work environment for female employees? 2 months ago:
I understand that first sentence it’s makes sense, but that second sentence, now come on a murderer should in fact be made known and jobless for some pretty damn obvious reasons.
- Comment on The FTC isn’t too happy with Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard layoffs 2 months ago:
I’m guessing because they haven’t been paid their share of the profits and savings. FTC only cares about themselves nothing more.

- Comment on Meta cuts off third-party access to Facebook Groups, leaving developers and customers in disarray 2 months ago:
It’s used as a source of income for a lot of people. It’s easy to group everyone and say they deserve all that happens but take a minute and consider those who are struggling and it’s their only way to find work and others are just trying to stay afloat in the sinking economy
- Comment on It’s Surprisingly Easy to Live Without an Amazon Prime Subscription 3 months ago:
I haven’t used prime in idk how long. 2 day shipping hasn’t been 2 days or even 4 days in years now. Every order with or without prime is at least a week. The only reason I use Amazon is ordering odd ball stuff you can’t find in a store or the price difference is substantial enough to justify. I never need to pay for shipping since if I’m ordering it’s a bulk order of stuff I need and it’s free shipping over $25. I hate Amazon but i also gotta get by some how

How do I do a home page? When I couldn’t figure it out I searched online and it said on android you can’t.

I switched to Firefox and using DDG as my search engine about 2m ago and I’ll be honest I really don’t care for it. I’m trying my best but I use my phone for 100% of my browsing and not being able to set a home page sucks and with DDG searching for stuff takes significantly longer to get answers with. I search for a ton of stuff that I just need a quick answer to that when searching for Google would just show the answer instead of needing to open links and such. I’m giving it a bit more time but I’ll probably end up back with chrome.
- Comment on Weather app asking for permission to manage calls 3 months ago:
You know what’s also annoying AF? The number of apps that keep asking permissions when you open then. Doesn’t matter how many times you say no.
- Comment on Google announces April 2024 shutdown date for Google Podcasts 4 months ago:
I learned with Google music never get involved with Google with something you’ll want to use daily. Google music hands down was the absolute best music service I’ve ever used. Google is like a kid with ADHD bouncing around from project to project never to see them through.

- Comment on PlayStation keeps reminding us why digital ownership sucks 5 months ago:
Lots of reasons to enjoy having a Playstation. Having a full PC setup is expensive when you factor in more than just the case build. It’s nice to have something you can boot up and get right into. Everyone acts like their system is superior but the superior system is whatever one best suits your needs. I personally would absolutely love a PS5 varient that didn’t require internet and just let me play my single player games in peace.
- Comment on Reddit updates look after rough 6 months and ahead of reported IPO 5 months ago:
You’re absolutely right about most of it. My only criticism is the first paragraph as I am notorious for just commenting and not responding. Literally if you reply I won’t respond lol but I can’t imagine I’m the only one. A better way to sniff them out would be profiling them and finding things like hobby subs where they would be significantly more likely to comment vs addiction subs where they may feel some shame in interacting or engaging in their addiction.
I’m pretty stupid so I could be talking out my ass but I figured input for data collection and such.

Hey! This was a nice civil chat you didn’t need that hostility!
Joking aside sadly I read that as well and it’s mind blowing at first.
- Comment on If forced to choose one retro console forever what would you choose and why? 5 months ago:
Exactly! Honestly the birth of some series starting on PS2 and some were skyrocketed because of the PS2. It’s truly perfect system. The fact that it’s one of the few systems you could buy and have endless hours on it spread across multiple games is still amazing.
- Comment on If forced to choose one retro console forever what would you choose and why? 5 months ago:
I dont want to accept it however I’m pretty sure that it is considered retro. I would also pick ps2 not only does it have an massive library of games but there are alot of insanely good ones
- Comment on Tv box recommendations? 5 months ago:
I’m kinda new to the scene so take what I say with a grain of salt. I have jellyfin running on a laptop and I use a roku stick to stream through. Not perfect by any means however it does what I need to do. I’ve been told using a raspberry PI would be a great budget option with more feature.
