- Comment on Anglicare’s Rental Affordability Snapshot 2025 | Anglicare 2 weeks ago:
shameful
so much blame on negative gearing for high prices and cost of housing
but I think we need to take a very close look at the real estate industry, how they inflate house prices and how they gouge both landlords and tenants with fees based on rental price.

UNIONS
- Comment on Housing, we all know 2 weeks ago:
I suggest we also remember that prices are only half the story, wages have stayed flat for 50 years. Our wages have 1/3 the buying power of 50 years ago.

- Comment on From $30 parmigianas to $15 pints, can Australia still afford the pub? 4 weeks ago:
Wages.
We could easily afford beers and parmas if we had the same wage levels as we had 50 years ago
Australians earn **one third **the real buying power of the 1970s.
We earn ONE THIRD of what we used to
**employers took the difference in value **and stores kept increasing prices
the problem is the wages

- Comment on Six Australian universities close Chinese government-linked Confucius Institutes 1 month ago:
the thing is CI is more strident in misusing influence in the big more prestigious unis and in history and politics subjects, they try hard to influence the dialogue and narrative
at the smaller unis it’s just using soft power on the locals and keeping tabs on Chinese nationals
- Comment on Six Australian universities close Chinese government-linked Confucius Institutes 1 month ago:
yup
in my classes ( art and language ) the political influence was subtle but present
the cultural superiority was overt and hard to bear ( from other students )
and there was no way I would use zoom
but I found the teachers expert, helpful and kind
in other classes the influence was much stronger

- Comment on trump puts 25% tariffs on Aussie steel and aluminium 3 months ago:
there were stock market movements based on what Trump said
people who have insider knowledge would be able to make a lot of money on that
- Comment on trump puts 25% tariffs on Aussie steel and aluminium 3 months ago:
I suspect these announcements by Trump are nothing but stock market scams with a whole bunch of insider trading going on.
Trump removed tariffs from Mexico and Canada after a few days. We’ll see what happens with this
- Comment on No one feels safe in Zionist Australia 3 months ago:
The numbers never get reported accurately and it doesn’t help that Hamas lies.
Hamas reports all natural deaths as caused by Israel. That’s at least 10,000 natural deaths that Hamas lied about. .
Hamas aid 500,000 would die of famine by February 2024. They didn’t.
Hamas lies didn’t help the Gazan people.
Now Donald Trump is involved and wants real genocide. Trump stopped all USAID to Gaza. Biden sent 300 million.
Luckily Saudi Arabia told him to go fuck himself.
