- Comment on Norway struck oil in the 60s. Now it has trillions. This is how Australia compares 1 month ago:
Australia can stop having the mentality of being a colony who only exists to be harvested by the elite.
We need to be a completely independent self determining republic so we are forced to stand on our own two feet and make our own future.
People say “but the monarchy is only a figurehead and has no power”. I think we all know the power of ideas and figureheads after seeing the havoc wreaked by the extremists in the US. Ideas and beliefs shape our aspirations and goals.
And it would be nice to have a Bill of Rights and a fair reporting doctrine to protect us from undue influence .

Who cares what the average user expects, it’s up to the smart people to set the standard, not the other way around.

these articles are so lazy, of course there is more payout, the population has boomed
so more people with insurance policies, more claims
and with booming population all the really safe places to build have been taken, we are now onto less safe places
and corrupt councils run by the real state lobby have stuffed up zoning, a lot of places, like flood zones, should never be built on

- Comment on Why the cost of living crisis will not get better 4 months ago:
Wages have dropped to one third in value in the past 50 years.
It’s wages.
If this happened quickly we would say it’s a crisis but because it’s been slow it’s been easy for employers to blame inflation for losses in living standards.
Join a union.
Meanwhile, Trump/maga are engineering a world economic crash. I suggest people cut costs, even if that means living with extended family, and save.
