- Comment on Evolutionarily speaking, wouldn't premature ejaculation be considered the desired trait? 1 week ago:
‘The planet’ was just short for ‘all organisms living on the planet’. The planet itself is not living, so it cannot be killed. But you knew that all along, did you not?

Technology was always built on energy sources. Hopefully nuclear fission will perform as anticipated, as current sustainable energy sources will run out sooner or later. I’m not sure how wind turbines and solar power will survive in a lower energy avalibility society. Looks like a Mad Max scenario to me.

The question was about evolution, how is this not part of that discussion? When we’ve destroyed all natural resources and heated up the atmosphere beyond food production possibilities (including loss of biodiversity), we’re back at the stone age. With matching population numbers. Evolution will take it from there.

You could also have too much offspring. Our current reproduction rates already have us at the brink of collapse. And the rest if the planet with us.

People choose those politicians, too sensitive for fear of even slightly bigger government. Paired with racism, nowadays.

Imagine how being vegan makes you the most horrible pariah. Change of diet was not difficult at all, but I wasn’t quite prepared for the social consequences.

When you drop your Fairphone, you can easily repair it. Still on my FP4, no need to change, really. Only updated the battery once.

Who else should tell them? Sure, it could probably have been phrased better, but the message stays the same. And I believe in the power of repetition. There’s still a very long way to go, worldwide. I’m well aware of that. But every journey is one step at a time.
- Comment on Why is coal and fossil fuels still used? 4 months ago:
Yeah, I remember. But how important is that?
- Comment on Why is coal and fossil fuels still used? 4 months ago:
This dependence on meat is mostly imaginary.

On Mastodon I have no trouble interacting with other users there. I have 2 accounts running on different instances - one global and one local. No trouble at all finding an account on either of them.

Yeah sure, they’ll probably also have typed all posts on Lemmy, including those that have not been posted yet.

What if the monkeys evolve to higher intelligence as time passes by?
