It would probably be about the same if not for the fact humans are smart enough to know better, so when we do bad things there isn’t any excuse.

Ah I see, well it’s nice the circumstances existed for them to come about. It’s good having goods and services being provided by co-ops, for the workers especially but usually for the customers too.

I mean fuck Ajit Pai and all, but that is a very efficient mug and it doesn’t deserve hate for being associated with the grim reaper of digital freedom.
We need to end unjustified hatred of big mugs now.

I didn’t even know co-op power companies were common, it seems like an odd (but good) service to be provided by a co-op. I wonder if they’re common in the UK.
- Comment on The truth about Canada 1 year ago:
I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about, left leaning Americans seem to talk about Canada positively all of the time, in reference to its health care system and generally aboit how they want their country to be more like Canada. The only thing negative they say is in reference how native people have been treated and still continue to be treated there which I think is right.
I am not from either country and this is just based on what I see Americans online say about Canada/Canadians.

Lol, I have been using vDS on my Android phone it’s the free DS emulator that I found works best. Most games work well, some don’t seem to translate well to a phone screen though. I wanted to play Sonic Rush Adventure, and it runs fine on the emulator but the on screen buttons just don’t seem to be suitable for that type of game.

It is weird how he’s just completely running it into the ground… I don’t really buy that though because he never actuslly wanted the company and only bought it because a court forced him to. Also I honestly don’t think he’d want to wash 44 big ones down the drain just to own the libs.
All I can think of is that he’s just… maybe kind of an idiot and has just gotten lucky so far lol? It’s the only thing that fits as far as I can see.
- Comment on Bluesky sees record signups day after Musk says X will go paid-only 1 year ago:
Yeah it is like that unfortunately. I mean the larger subs are fine but the niche ones just aren’t working on Lemmy atm and some way of addressing the sub splintering would help a lot. And yeah hashtags would probably be a solid way of addressing it.

- Comment on But my WiFi is just fine! 1 year ago:
I think people care about different things, networking might not be something they’re interested in so aren’t interested in spending time learning about it. Where as when you are interested in it it’s not so hard to read, watch videos about it and experiment with it. At least that’s generally how I find these things work.

An important note is it has an epic gaming aesthetic which makes it faster

Are you saying brands don’t want to come to the fediverse to market their products? I mean if that’s true that seems like a good thing, and even if it wasn’t I’m sure they would once Lemmy/Mastadon are big enough
- Comment on Bluesky sees record signups day after Musk says X will go paid-only 1 year ago:
Maybe how it could work is sublemmies could agree to link up and share posts so for example the posts from one games sub would appear in the other games sub and vice versa.
It seems the limitation with the topics idea is who would decide what the topics are? Would there just be a list of like 20 topics baked into Lemmy and people that create sublemmies would tag their sub with a topic? I think the only limitation with that is there would be so many niche subs that don’t fit cleanly into one topic, or will be drowned out by the big subs in there maybe. Maybe it could work though if anybody could create new topics, then there could be a Fallout for example with the Fallout subs being in that rather than having to be in the games topic and being drowned out

So is it going to be part of the fediverse at one point or will it be a separate federation?

I don’t think think you even got the wrong sentiment I was definitely being rude lol. I think l was just in a bad mood and interpreted your post uncharitably but when I read your comments on the post later I saw you didn’t have any ill intentions and felt bad for jumping to conclusions. Glad this exchange ended on good terms any way.
- Comment on YouTube suspends monetisation of Russell Brand's channel 1 year ago:
You’re right I should have worded that better, so apologies for being rude. I just think they demonotised him because it’s actually pretty clear he is guilty (even if it is just to protect themselves) and your post was kind of adding to the narrative that it’s just a witch hunt when demonotised videos don’t even have the ads anyway.
But I understand you were just making a point about private companies having too much power over the livelihoods of creators etc which I agree with. I’m sure you didn’t have ill intent so like I say I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions.

- Comment on Bosses mean it this time: Return to the office or get a new job! — As office occupancy rates stagnate, employers are giving up on perks and turning to threats 1 year ago:
Well yeah, but also I think it’s just that the same people who own these businesses that people work for, and the friends and family of those people, also own lots of property much of which is office space which they don’t want to lose money. That and all of the businesses (e.g. Starbucks) and the property they’re in that partially make money from people on their way to work. And if you want to go even deeper, if people are WFM then they may not have to eat out as often, might not need to pay for a lot of things as often if they have more time. So much money can be lost and rich people all know each other and have class consciousness, I think that’s why we’re seeing so much anti-WFM propaganda
