- Comment on YouTube adds new hurdles for ad blockers, and there's currently no way around it 22 hours ago:
Meh. My ad blocking strategy on my phone and desktop still works fine. I use Morphe (formerly Revanced), uBlock Origin on Firefox and AdGuard on my android phone.
No ads. No problem.
- Comment on Retrograde - A Halo Tribute 6 days ago:
Considering I grew up with PC shooters in the 90s, Halo was waaay overrated. The best thing Bungie did was introduce online multiplayer to consoles.
Sure I had fun zooming around with the warthog in college LAN games, but the overall pacing of the game was glacially slow coming from twitchy shooters like Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament and Starsiege: Tribes.

I never had a need for discord and never will. Good riddance.

Correct. Lets hope Valve remains a consumer-friendly monopoly for the long term.
Legions of lesser companies have long since enshittified themselves while screwing consumers until they are blue in the face.
God bless Gabe.
- Comment on LG joins Sony and TCL in abandoning 8K TV market 1 week ago:
Rock on, dude. I do almost all of my gaming from the couch so 1080p looks fine to me and my GPU doesn’t have to crank out 4K worth of pixels to drag down my FPS.

I used to. Then I moved to Kansas. No hills here!

Meh. I’m over it. Shovelware is abundant on all platforms and it’ll lead to another industry crash similar to 1983 as soon as the economy chokes.
My Steam backlog will last years.

I bought my 1080p LED backlit 60" Vizio panel back in early 2015 and it’s still going strong!

- Comment on Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney argues banning Twitter over its ability to AI-generate pornographic images of minors is just 'gatekeepers' attempting to 'censor all of their political opponents' 5 weeks ago:
As an old ass gamer who is fond of Unreal Tournament, I sure hate what Epic has become.
- Comment on Windows users keep losing files to OneDrive, and many don't know why 5 weeks ago:
I’ve never lost a single file on OneDrive. That’s because I do not use OneDrive.
Eat shit, Microsoft.
- Comment on Rather than fully cracking down on scam ads, Meta worked to make them harder to find - Sherwood News 1 month ago:
If you are on Android, Revanced has several ad-free versions for popular applications like YouTube and spotify. I pay 30 bucks for a lifetime subscription to AdGuard back in 2019 and the experience has been extraordinary.
It’s always a jarring experience to use someone else’s phone. Ads take up at least a third of the screen at any given time now. I’m not swimming in that shit.
- Comment on Rather than fully cracking down on scam ads, Meta worked to make them harder to find - Sherwood News 1 month ago:
I deleted my Facebook profile last year after 18 years and never looked back. It’s a totally different platform than what I signed up for almost two decades ago. Absolutely zero value for me now.
I’m so glad Valve is releasing a VR headset so I don’t need to have anything to do with a trash company like Meta.

It’s not legal where I live, but that didn’t stop me from fighting back.
I’m not down with this surveillance state we’re moving into.

Yeah I don’t understand how a private company deploying cameras on the side of roads is even legal.
Does that mean I can build solar powered raspberry pi units with cameras that do the same thing and pepper them around the country without question?

True, but Nvidia’s market cap is still equal to 15 percent of 30.486 trillion. What’s worse is that it’s ALL built on speculation.
