- Comment on Ah shit. Here we go again. 1 day ago:
That last bit is something that bothers me. My apartment used to pay water, sewer, garbage but years ago they shifted that to the tenants. We don’t have individual meters so our bill is divided up between units and the number of people in the unit (supposedly… Our bills are administered by a third party. I can’t even pay my bill directly to the utility companies)
I try to conserve water (or anything else, but I’m focusing on the water). I don’t like waste. But fuck it, if I’m paying for OTHER PEOPLE’S water usage I sure as shit will make sure I get my money’s worth. But if everyone has that mindset, our bills collectively go up. Oh well

The leaves and spirals are springy. Errr… I have snapped a couple leaves early on; there’s two you can see in the pics. They have a bit of give but are very tender
The leaves themselves are reminiscent of airplants where they seem to have very fine scales or hairs along the stem that gives them a matte appearance and I have definitely noticed some disturbance where I’ve been a little rough or had some contaminate on my fingers
I just took the video, hopefully it works. Just me pulling on the spirals

That is incredible! I may have seen that before on another site. Do you have that yourself?
And it is very grabby. I’ve been having to untangle its spirals as they’re tightening up

It doesn’t have a name yet 🤔 I do like that

Yeah, thank you! I don’t think I’ve ever posted on lemmy before because I didn’t have anything to share until now. Just needed to spread my excitement!

I read the article but I’m not up to snuff on the particular history. I’m not sure in the painting who is on the right side of history but regardless it conveys emotion beautifully

Those make my mouth itch, and lactose free cottage cheese did my system in so I guess I have to swear off dairy. But I can’t give up cheese, I just eat small amounts of it

Oh my God that’s wonderful. I haven’t been in this light of a mood for a while, I’m nearly crying laughing at that. Hopefully there’s more like that. Though if there is, I gotta be careful or I might fall in love
- Comment on The Onion buys rightwing conspiracy theory site Infowars with plans to make it ‘very funny, very stupid’ 3 months ago:
A part of me actually wished that the Onion would have purchased InfoWars, but in secret, like maybe under a subsidiary corp that has a right-wing sounding name.
"Today we celebrate a new addition to the Global Tetrahedron LLC family of brands. "
don’t change Infowars’ branding
“Founded in 1999 … InfoWars has distinguished itself as an invaluable tool for brainwashing and controlling the masses.
…
InfoWars has shown an unswerving commitment to manufacturing anger and radicalizing the most vulnerable members of society—values that resonate deeply with all of us at Global Tetrahedron.
No price would be too high for such a cornucopia of malleable assets and minds. … a steep bargain: less than one trillion dollars.”
I’m absolutely not disagreeing with you; I believe the onion will continue on doing “its thing” and keeping on-brand for both entities. Do exactly what you say and publish articles either believable or outlandish enough to break through to people

So, anyone with an android can let you use theirs and the “find device” app in guest mode. Your info won’t be saved but that option is there for exactly your use case

I haven’t heard of either of those, but I absolutely put some better than boullion in a mug with boiling water to drink. Sometimes I dip toast in it, or a grilled cheese

I wonder if you could find low sodium condensed broth; I imagine that would alleviate a lot of the unpleasantness. Because otherwise I also was pretty curious about the actual taste of the beverage

I donated regularly, until my hematocrit wouldn’t be high enough and I couldn’t anymore (tried a few times at a couple different places). It was over the course of a couple years, not just my trying to donate back to back. I’ve tried a few times over the years. But it’s been a while, maybe I’ll give it a shot again

I just can’t get over the name. My head cannon is lemmy is the name of a lemur, and lemmy users are lemurs
Can you imagine if lemmy were to celebrate an achievement?? We cannot be having lemmyparties

I found voyager (previously wefwef) pretty easily and quickly adopted that while I wait for sync to be released
Here’s a fun post asking lemmy users about their technical background. It’s quite a varied mix but it seems to trend on the pretty layman end of the spectrum lemmy.world/post/1868094
Lemmy gave me my reddit fix when I left when the first blackouts started, using my 3rd party app only every couple days to check protest subs until the app died
I think with development of lemmy apps, and the fact kbin is officially working on an API (kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/p/903221) it will only become more accessible. When I first heard of lemmy, of course I search the play store and there was hardly anything. I’ve been using voyager for 10 versions and it’s improving leaps and bounds. A lot of seasoned reddit devs are working on a lemmy app now and that’s nothing but fantastic news. Some even stated future kbin support
