I still have it around somewhere in hopes I can fix it
When I got it, my family said it didn’t work, it had some weird error. I charged it and turned it on so they were like “sure you can have it”
It was my first smartphone,. actually, and I used it for quite a while until it died again. I don’t remember the error, but it was basically bricked and I couldn’t factory reset it via the phone menu. I had a very young child and trying to figure out the android sdk for a computer to fiddle that out was too taxing for me
I really liked that phone for sure. I’m sure it’s a lot of nostalgia, but I miss the older simpler phones. Much easier to handle, too.
I’ve currently just been using every couple generations of the Xa model. This one’s a pixel 7a, last was a 4a which the child has now. It’s got severe battery life issues after that update recently but I haven’t looked into it too hard. Been wanting to look for some alternatives and I’m leaning towards something unconventional, at least by today’s standards. I checked out that phone and it really looks good, both aesthetically and specs wise

I had a Nexus that I got as a hand me down. It had a ball with customizable colors
The next one I had after that had an led you could customize for different types of notifications

Oh I made another comment but this was what I was talking about! I was talking to my partner about it last night after watching the CES video. I couldn’t remember the name but this is exactly it
I said it was “Rock Pops” because i think that’s great

I watched a video about the worst of CES. I was kind of amused that some of the winners of worst-of weren’t even new ideas
There was a candy I remember that from a long time ago, idk 2000ish? It was a lollipop you bit down on and you could hear music played through your teeth. I never tried it but it was sold where I worked
Another idea, the worst of the worst, was the smart fridge. I remember from business classes I took many years ago used that as an example of innovation. Or a “smart” microwave. You let it know what ingredients you have, for example by scanning the barcode, so it can recommend recipes or alert you when something is running low
The rendition of those ideas at the CES were so out of touch

What I imagine is besties; driver is indeed a gay guy but there’s a scrappy chick who’s down for anything riding along
I don’t know where to find it, but it gives me the vibes of this clip I saw: chick getting regular voice comms harassment in a game and she replied (as close as I can remember)

I guarantee you that’s a tree farm. I’d gladly be proved wrong
The uniform height, spacing, and lush branches are a key clue. I wish I took pictures on my last trip so I could show you what I’m talking about, but I was traveling through a place undergoing logging. In the forest, like you’re thinking, the lower branches are dead because the crowns are crowding out the light. In the understory, lower light plants thrive, ones who can’t really take full sun all day
I say this to hopefully assuage your feelings about the picture. The tree did what it was meant to do, and in a spectacular way

Went with my partner to a really cute cabin for a vacation. It was a yurt, and really nice except the partition to the bathroom was just a curtain and the wall didn’t go to the ceiling. It was at least behind a wall so there was a small modicum of privacy
So waaaaaaay too much cheese on both our parts lead to some very unpleasant bathroom trips and a resulting overload of senses. There was a window, fortunately, though it was fairly ineffective but we learned to excuse ourselves from the cabin when the other had to shit their brains out

I haven’t had too many issues lately with hotels and obnoxious lights. And I think it’s because manufacturers have changed something. But every once in a while there’s some device that has a pinprick hole with a blue led behind it that acts like a damn flashlight and sends a faint blue beam across the room, or if it’s aimed at you:

I’m not against bros blowing bros,
But if that were to happen I’m pretty sure it would not be consensual on Mamdani’s part
Cuomo? 100% wouldn’t have given a 2nd thought and assumed it’s true

Definitely, but they did well for themselves and their family. They moved between big name studios but have found a comfortable career not tied to any big name studio
I haven’t kept in close contact with them but it’s pretty fun hearing about, or even playing, games they’ve worked on (every once in a while I check up on what they’ve done)
They eventually got into the sound side of things and occasionally would do recordings when family got together. One time in particular I remember, we went on a walk and they brought recording equipment. Recorded the ambient sounds while we were on the trail. Sometimes we’d be talking and other times we were walking in silence. Recording us approaching and departing; the sounds of our footsteps on different terrain: gravel, dirt, grass, pavement. Got some closeups of a small creek that ran next to the trail. Would record the sounds of a field of wild grass, or a stand of trees. I wonder if anything they recorded ended up in some game… That would be pretty dope
Tl;Dr What I can say is, they genuinely loved their job no matter which shitty big name they worked under. And they got to do some genuinely fun things in the pursuit of bettering their work
Sorry for the wall of text, idk I just haven’t really had somewhere to share that. I’ve never heard someone mention infinity ward , like literally ever. Any time I’ve said the name I’ve been met with blanks stares until I say “Call of Duty”

I have a family member who worked for IW on CoD but left shortly after the merger when they saw the writing on the wall. Granted they left for a company just as bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be fair…
I did the thing where I signed up and got the app and promptly never used it
I don’t particularly like short form content (at all) but I was hoping that there’d be some relevant connection between the platforms

They like moisture. They’re crustaceans like crabs and shrimp so they need high humidity at the very least to survive. Bugs also like to find shelter in shade so a big shady place that also happens to be damp is paradise

See my platform would be “All Parking Lots Must Be Connected”
Because it pisses me off to no end trying to get to a location I can see with my eyeballs and the lot I turn into is somehow completely isolated from the adjacent onesBut I’ll also gladly take on “Stop Fucking with the Internet” because I’m pretty passionate about that, too

To add onto that, by the time some toxins present themselves (as in you’re feeling/noticing effects) it’s already too late and fatality is imminent

Nope, it’s still flashing yellow, like it has been, and has been after the last couple resets of everything between me and the wall

I recently had an rfid scanner immediately rma-d back that had just been returned to us. The new issue was caused by a setting and not by a defect. I asked our IT/help desk if it WAS a setting that could be changed
“I don’t know. I get the thing, I check these settings, I check those settings, that’s all I know”
😑😑😑
So me and another person are out of our equipment for another couple weeks while the scanner is sent back for “repairs” and the repair people will go “😑 tap tap tap idiots”

Generally oc forward subs are very stringent about it truly being OC and if caught posting something that isn’t theirs will face consequences
Blurry pics of a cat’s right up on the lens is low effort. Any pictures you see posted in a place like lemmy.world/c/astrophotography will not be low effort because those are removed. They also require the submissions to be OC
