I’m just mad they didn’t add Italians and Jews to the progressive flag, cmon!

Just to be sure, have you lived at the same address for all these years? I haven’t, so it’s hard to compare then & now for me.

it does seem ironic, but the majority of profits going to the CEO paycheck is kind of the point!

good luck! it’s British comedy… most of the jokes you’ve heard are stand-alone jokes along with a hundred others you haven’t heard… for various reasons.

While we’re at it, is there a way to export subscribed communities too? Or even to open them via db0?

- Comment on Is it a prison break if the prisoners have been unjustly detained? Who decides when it is a hostage rescuse situation? 6 days ago:
the term won’t be “prison break” but will depend on the jurisdiction that holds the person. if you are being detained by the state police, you’ll get something like “fleeing and eluding” but it depends on your local laws. if you’re in US federal custody then it depends on what they charge you with and how they detain you.
Fleeing would be a separate charge itself. the eighth amendment could get it thrown out but you’d still be able to be charged with it and would at least need to stand trial to be charged within X amount of time.
if, however, you’re illegally detained and the constitution is clearly being violated, then the perpetrators will need to be held accountable. don’t worry about it. you can just wait for congress to save you. they’ll be here any minute now. aaaany minute now.

I tried going down this line of thinking too, but any assumption you make is predicated on the belief that they would use means that we are familiar with. Just because we do not know of a way to do such and such does not mean it does not exist. This post is referring to a fundamental epistemic problem.

I used Pimsleur to get started on my L2 way back when. I am now pretty much fluent, after living immersively for a long time. The immersion, and dedication, and tutors, and language school did the heavy lifting. But Pimsleur gets big credit for helping me get started and get confidence.

oh fuck off, i was with you until this point. yea I dont like seeing my country being used as the benchmark for when the west does shitty things. the OP gave a pretty measured response and was thoughtful, patient, and non defensive.
and then you reply like a fucking twelve year old, obviously not having read any of it. go back to hexbear with the other juveniles.

- Comment on In America, crisp is used to describe natural food that is very fresh or a nice, cold morning. But crispy is used to describe food that is cooked so long it's become crunchy. 5 weeks ago:
if you cook something long enough for it to get crispy, that’s still used as a favourable descriptor

Korea is not fucked. We’re doing better than the US at fighting fascism. Birth rates are on the rise. Universal Healthcare is already decades ongoing. They’re proposing a four day workweek. It’s fucking paradise compared to much of the world.
