I really wish I could do audio books, but my ADHD riddles brain zones out constantly and i would keep having to skip back because I realised I wanst paying attention and had no idea what happened for the last 5 minutes. I already have to this with TV shows sometimes and even books ill occasional read a paragraph without actually reading it.

I think tablets like these are actually extremely common.
I know a guy I spoke to at the British Museum about cuneiform tablets said they literally just have hundreds and hundreds of them in storage and they are most very mundane record keeping.
- Comment on Wikipeter was the founder of the site in 1993 when he wanted to know more about model trains without having to visit the library 4 weeks ago:
Nah fuck this attitude, if you ever tried to use Wikipedia for an actual research project you’ll know how dubious those “”“sources”“” can be.
It’s actuslly an exercise one of my TA friends sets for students when they’re just learning to research things properly. She gives them a claim on Wikipedia and and asks them to find the primary source for it. So they end up spending hours following chains of citations, until they are checking out old books from the library to try and find excerpts that some blog post that was cited in a paper that was cited in a newspaper, that was cited in a different blog post that was cited in another news article that was cited by Wikipedia claims exists, just to find out it doesn’t.
But seriously, don’t take Wikipedia seriously unless it cites a primary source directly.

No I understood the point of your comment perfectly, it’s the old “well we can’t complete fix every problem with society magically overnight with 1 action, so we shouldn’t try to do anything” argument. With perhaps a dash of “you want to improve society, yet you participate in society, curious” thrown in as well.
Basically if everyone were to have the same attitude as you literally nothing would ever get better.
- Comment on The Best-Selling Video Games Since 2020 4 weeks ago:
Idk, I’ve tried to play it at least half a dozen times since it was “fixed” and it still just seems rushed and unfinished, just less buggy now.

Idgaf he’s a bigot, a cow or a racist. If I like x thing that was made, and them being a bigot, cow or racist does not impact the product I’m buying, then I’m buying it.
Congrats on perfectly respresenting the core of what is wrong with modern society.
“If it doesn’t get in the way of my mindless consumerism, I’ll happily support people who are openly racist”
People like you, more so even than the bigots themselves, are why society is turning to shit.
- Comment on Among games with over 10K reviews, Deltarune is the most highly rated 4 weeks ago:
In fairness even if a big studio released a great game, enough people would either try it and not like it, or just give a bad review because it’s EA, that it wouldn’t make this list.
Indie games don’t have that problem.

Fighting tyranny doesn’t mean going to war with the US military.
It can be things like black panther style community patrols. A lot of states are open carry, you could set up armed community patrols around your neighbourhood, and that would make the brownshirts a lot less likely to drop in and start abducting people.

- Comment on Assuming humanity last another few hundred years; How many human languages do you think are gonna be left in 100 years? In 200 years? 2 months ago:
I think people are over estimating how long 100 years is.
No languages that are currently spoken by more than a couple thousand people are going to go extinct that quickly.
Remember 100 years is in the upper end of a human life span.
