100%. Meanwhile that Samsung 1Tb in my server has a power on hours count of 116892 and is still happily chugging along (yes it’s got a cold spare ready to go ands nothing important on it lol).
- Comment on Seagate just unleashed 44TB hard drives 1 day ago:
Good advice, but I’ve been burned so many times I’m just going elsewhere.
- Comment on Seagate just unleashed 44TB hard drives 1 day ago:
That’s brilliant, I love it.
- Comment on Seagate just unleashed 44TB hard drives 2 days ago:
Have Seagate sorted their shit out? I have never had any other manufactures drives fail so often in the last 25 or so years. I have them a fresh chance about 10 years ago in a PS4 and guess what? It failed.
This just sounds like 44Tb of fucking about restoring data to me.

Does talking to randoms on Kazaa count? Otherwise various forums, uboot, Facebook (shudder), Reddit, Lemmy.

Hell yeah Red Leicester. That stuff is amazing.

Ah these fucking things. Everyone around you has to deal with the smell while you have some fire in a box.
These need to be regulated into oblivion or banned in dense housing areas.

That’s a real good point. Here in the UK I’m the only one out of my friends group who doesn’t use it. Here’s me also jumping to conclusions that it’s the same everywhere !

Man 100%. Every now and then you hear that Facebook is “hemorrhaging users” or “it’s all over” but most normal people just don’t give a fuck and use it because they’re already there and their friends are too. This’ll be no different.

I’m glad that’s not just me. I actually thought my brain had failed me again.
- Comment on Discord will require a face scan or ID for full access next month 4 weeks ago:
Yeah that’s a hard no from me. Want me to prove my ID? I want you to prove that you’re not gonna store it. History suggests otherwise.
Not that I want to use your platform anyway.

You know what, I forget about this. Habit I guess.

Gotta roll it into a joint or whatever. What you doing instead? Eating it?
- Comment on What a great idea 1 month ago:
Oh god yes. Get it away from my car. Why are you steering it with your elbows? Whos is this one abandoned diagonally in the middle of an aisle?

- Comment on What common American habits do people find quietly annoying? 2 months ago:
Saying “I could care less” instead of “I couldn’t care less”. Annoyingly incorrect but not exactly a critical issue.

Shut up and take my money.
- Comment on The whole "toilet seat up, toilet seat down" gender debate could be solved by everybody putting the seat and lid down. 2 months ago:
You don’t all just choose the lid when done? That’s like opening a cupboard in the kitchen to get something then just leaving the cupboard open isn’t it?
Besides, with the lid closed it’s harder to accidentally drop something in there.

Because I’d just rather not and my memory regularly lets me down. Can’t Ctrl+F my brain.
And especially fuck voice notes, I’m not turning the volume up and playing it out loud because someone couldn’t be bothered to type.
Just give it me in text god damn it.

Yeah I hear you there. Quick recipes are the singular reason I find AI useful.
- Comment on AI Slop Recipes Are Taking Over the Internet — And Thanksgiving Dinner | Food bloggers see traffic dip as home cooks turn to AI, inspired by impossible pictures 3 months ago:
Maybe controversial, but if I ask AI for a recipe I get one. If I search for something and go to a website there’s a fucking novel to trawl through before I find the actual recipe. Even then it’s in weird units half the time.

The case will pop and throw shit everywhere. You could die, you could be injury free.
The barrel is needed as the cartridge sits in one end precisely to stop it exploding outwards with pressure and instead propel the projectile down range.
