It happened during the 08 writers strike. Reality Tv is cheap to produce and requires minimal writing.

Theoretically, you could also tack it on at the beginning.
Or you could also, theoretically, tack it on in the middle of a sentence.

Heyo! I’m from Arizona. 100 is not “stay inside the AC” weather for us, it’s practically “time to get a light jacket” weather.
- Comment on Fahrenheit vs. Celsius vs. Kelvin 1 year ago:
Yeah, I was using getting into your car as an example because our burn center has to put out a warning every year due to people literally burning their hand off getting into their car. Like I said, my state regularly gets to 120 in the summer. Texas rarely gets that hot. I’ve already stated in my previous comment that you’d need to drink more water, but it’s not going to fucking kill you. Hell, during summer we are lucky if it gets below 105 at night. You’re being really dramatic with the whole “my shirt is soaked in sweat!!” When you obviously live in a humid area. It being 70 in Florida will get you the same results. Like seriously, 100 ain’t shit, yeah drink more water, but you don’t need to stop every 2 minutes for a water break. 110 here means construction crews stop working at 2 instead of 6, and no there are no 10-15 increments of working. You shouldn’t only be drinking water, which will make you sick, anyways. You should also have an intake of oral salts to balance everything out. And it will prolong your need for water.

Right. The BDSM world has very strict rules. If you’re ever with a partner who “wants to try bdsm” without multiple conversations beforehand, then walk away. Aftercare is also a huge and important part of BDSM.
- Comment on Fahrenheit vs. Celsius vs. Kelvin 1 year ago:
Just an fyi, 100F is not “unsafe without counter measures” level of hot. That would be around 115+F. I say this as someone from a city that regularly hits 120F during the summer. 100 you can still get in your car, 115+ you need to wear gloves or else you’ll get 3rd degree burns. 100 have to buy pizza for lunch, 115+ just bake a pizza in your car.

Here’s an article on the topic. Idk who the author is, but the article is pretty accurate about what’s going on.
- Comment on 98 years worth of progress. 1 year ago:
It’s not a story but a bunch of women who claim that someone tried to kidnap them in broad daylight in a busy parking lot. Or tried to grab their kids. It’s always “someone” and never an actual description of a person. All the details are extremely vague. “Oh there was a van following me to my car!” “This guy was following me and he was wearing glasses so I couldn’t see his face!” It’s always these middle class white women too, which human traffickers don’t go after. They’ll take pictures of random vehicles and come up with fake ass stories about how the vehicle was following them, acting weird, blah blah. Oh and they never call the police. They just write long ass posts on social media about what almost happened to them.
- Comment on 98 years worth of progress. 1 year ago:
Yeah, I understand that. It’s the same with the whole kidnapping bs that’s being spouted across social media right now.

Probably, but I couldn’t help myself.
- Comment on Is there anywhere on this site you've found decent discussion across the aisle? 1 year ago:
So you believe that people killing themselves at your insistence is a good thing? And you expect people to take you seriously with that point of view?
Not being polite, and telling people to kill themselves are 2 completely different things.
I mean, words change meaning all the time due to people misusing the word. For instance, literally. Linguists have had to create 2 separate definitions for the word because so many people were using it in a figurative sense. Stupid is another word that has changed definitions over time. That doesn’t make people who use those terms liars, maybe more or less misinformed on the definition, or history of the word.
- Comment on Is there anywhere on this site you've found decent discussion across the aisle? 1 year ago:
So you’re being genuine when you’ve told people elsewhere on this thread to kill themselves? You genuinely want people to kill themselves over comments they made to you? Is that what you’re saying? Again, genuinely asking.
I’m not concerned about your, or their, comment history. I’m concerned with this specific thread, since you’ve said numerous time that they’ve lied specially in this thread.
I mean, I can completely understand why people think that those that voted for Trump are bigots. Trump himself has said some very questionable and bigoted things. But that doesn’t mean they’re a liar if you’re not a bigot, that’s their opinion and they are allowed to have that opinion, just like you’re allowed to have yours.
- Comment on Is there anywhere on this site you've found decent discussion across the aisle? 1 year ago:
Can you point out where in that comment they lied? You keep saying this person is lying, in this thread specifically, but your responses have just been “you’re lying!!!” So please, what exactly about that comment is a lie? Genuinely trying to have a convo with you.

It was a typo lmao. I meant “stories”.
Idk how long you were on there, but I was there for about 13yrs. and the “inside jokes” can be a little overwhelming at times. The Jesus Ads were the “He Gets Us” ads everywhere, if you never saw one then you must have used a client that didn’t have ads like Apollo, or paid for no ads through other clients.
As for the stories I’m talking if about, they all happened over a decade ago. You’d have to specifically search for them nowadays because like I said, they never get mentioned in those “Reddit history” askreddit threads anymore. All the stories mentioned nowadays have happened in the last couple years. IIRC, even poop knife is only like 6 or 7 years old.
Also I’m calling them stories because idk what else to call them. Some are threads, others are comments.
Oh shit, Streetlamp leMoose was another one I forgot about. Damn, there were so many greats that have been lost to time. The Search and Rescue series on no sleep. Talking about it is bringing up more and more memories.
- Comment on Lemmy feels so much more welcoming than R*ddit... And it's weird 1 year ago:
The better so tired from Reddit. Everyone knows the most recent Reddit trend and the askreddits are filled with them. But the best stories are the ones from 10+ years ago.
Spanish Reddit is another classic that never gets mentioned. There’s a slew of them if you look at the old “What’s something people on Reddit should know about Reddit” askreddits.

No, they didn’t because I’ve literally never heard of it until your comment. And I understand that my experience is anecdotal, but I guarantee I’m not the only one, or even one of only a couple thousand. You severely overestimate how knowledgeable the general public is on AI. Most haven’t even heard of Chat GPT, and that’s in the news, let alone expecting everyone to be interested in it enough to actually educate themselves on it.
Like you’re the only person in this thread that’s even mentioned Microsoft’s version, yet you think “the public” knows about it?

If an instance decides to show ads, I’ll just block that instance. If it’s mine, I’ll move to a different instance. If the Lemmy devs decide to add ads, I’ll just switch to kbin. I highly doubt most instances will adopt ads though.

My mom was one. Didn’t realize until I was older, and long after she died. But yeah, she only voted Republican because she was anti abortion. She had an abortion and suffered from unintended side effects and didn’t want other women to experience the same. I get where she was coming from, but she definitely had the wrong idea with banning abortion.
Oddly enough, it was a comment on Reddit that opened my eyes to everything. Something along the lines of “Dems don’t want women to have abortions. But we’d like the choice if need be.”
