Yeah, pretty sure it’s just on PC. And the Dev passed away a few years ago so it’s essentially abandonware

Love the writeup on Bastion. I have very similar feelings about Aquaria, an indie metroidvania from the beforetimes. The entire game is centered around the soundtrack, weaving the motifs into the game’s narrative. Even moreso than Bastion or Undertale, Aquaria makes it’s soundtrack a key narrative driver.

- Comment on Sony Sues Tencent Over Horizon Lookalike 6 days ago:
Eh this lawsuit actually sounds like it has grounds… Tencent asked to make a spinoff, got rejected, then made it anyway.
Sony states that during the pitch meeting, Tencent did not disclose it was already working on Light of Motiram. According to the lawsuit, Sony rejected Tencent’s Horizon pitch in April 2024, stating that while it “greatly appreciated Aurora’s level of passion and the effort put into the pitch,” it would not be pursuing the partnership.
When Tencent did announce Light of Motiram in November 2024, Sony states in the lawsuit that its gameplay trailer did not feature any of the “Eastern-inspired clothing, aesthetics, and backdrops that Tencent pitched and instead copied Horizon whole cloth.”

Always keeps you on your toes. System Shock 2 also had monsters able to respawn anywhere, so you were never 100% safe.

Wish can consequence-free emulate any level 8 or lower spell. So you could get 11 worry-free skeletons, or risk never casting wish again if you need 13.

I actually do enjoy cooking! I’m usually the one preparing meals since my wife works a later shift. Nothing terribly complicated, but I do stews, stir fry, pasta, etc. I like making my own pizza dough, and I have a great pizza stone for it.
But again, it can often feel like a chore to cook, and if my wife were more receptive to it, I’d probably rely on Soylent more. As it is, I’ll drink about one 400 calorie bottle a month if I’m busy or especially lazy.
Soylent certainly isn’t for everyone though. It’s like a protein shake in terms of consistency. The premade flavors are pretty good, and back when I was buying the powder I was adding my own flavors (peanut butter powder was the best). But doing that for a few meals in a row really messes with you the first time. You kind of feel both full and starving at the same time.

Yo I’m the person the one above was talking about! I was on a Soylent only* (I mean I had other food and snacks occasionally) for roughly 2 years. Lost 10 lbs (I barely had anything to lose to begin with) and stayed in excellent shape. I definitely enjoy food, but not as much as the other things I want to do (video games, movies, d&d, reading, hiking), and I’d rather down a quick shake than spens time preparing something.
BTW Soylent is very tongue-in-cheek in their branding, of course they intended to invoke Soylent Green. As with the stuff in the book, it’s something that’s nutritionally complete that you can subsist on for 100% of your diet.
I mean, it can be miserable after a while, and now they go with: Soylent shouldn’t replace every meal, but it can replace any meal. And it’s great! If I’m going for a run or have a busy morning, I can chug one and I’m all set. And unlike most protein bars, it’s not loaded with sugar.

- Comment on Microplastics will be the "boomers all have lead poisoning" of millennials 3 weeks ago:
There’s actually a lot of work going into documenting and replacing lead service lines in the US. EPA required every state to make sure every waterworks submitted an inventory by last October, with grant money through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to pay for it.
- Comment on SAG-AFTRA approves 2025 Video Game Agreement, officially concluding its strike 3 weeks ago:
The new contract ensures “safety guardrails” around AI, which includes “consent and disclosure requirements for AI digital replica use and the ability for performers to suspend consent for the generation of new material during a strike”.
Great to see. Now we’ll see if this actually ends all of the voice actor strikes in the industry. I know there were a bunch that started due to this strike but actually hinge on the company’s stance on allowing non-union members to remain non-union.

- Comment on Zelda BotW vs TotK - which one should I buy? 4 weeks ago:
I’d say BotW has less complexity for sure. TotK adds in a fusion system to its core gameplay, not only for vehicles but for weapons and your shield.
I loved BotW’s story, atmosphere, combat… It just had an unmatched sense of wonder. TotK is great but didn’t recapture the magic to the same degree.
