Don’t worry! I’m sure the default username and password didn’t get changed either.
- Comment on After seeing Wi-Fi network named “STINKY,” Navy found hidden Starlink dish on US warship 2 months ago:
The reason I think is because any unofficial and potentially unsecured communications access point seems like a vulnerability. If some moron posts a picture using that unofficial access point I’d be worried it could be traced to the ship’s location.

That seems like a significant security risk
- Comment on Who had it worse: Enterprise-D or Voyager? 2 months ago:
I don’t know about “worse natural disasters,” but Voyager definitely had it worse. At least when the Enterprise crew ran into cosmic death traps they could call for backup, or get a nice maintenance overhaul at a starbase after some Q shenanigans.

If anyone who didn’t get the COVID shot has been diagnosed with one of these “turbo cancers,” then this whole premise falls apart.

Oh no! A guy who’s past his prime against a guy who literally wants to commit crimes without consequences…how will I ever choose between these two equally bad options?!
- Comment on Japan’s Olympic athletes will wear outfits designed to block infrared cameras 4 months ago:
Some devices have unintentionally demonstrated how the infrared sensing used in night vision goggles and thermal cameras can reveal the unseen, like the OnePlus 8 Pro’s “Photochrom” color filter that worked like X-ray vision on the thin shell of an Apple TV. When used on people, infrared photography can reveal the lines of a person’s body or the undergarments they’re wearing beneath a thin layer of clothing, such as those worn by athletes.

One of my favorite Star Trek quotes of all time: “If the invasion had been considered a defeat Gowron would’ve been assassinated by now. He simply declared victory, and went home.”

The M.2 enclosure I have gets extremely hot during periods of extended use like installing an OS or transferring large amounts of data. Not sure if it’s a problem with other enclosures, but it’s something to consider.
- Comment on FCC bans cable TV industry’s favorite trick for hiding full cost of service 7 months ago:
This isn’t the worst offender I’ve seen, but it’s still bullshit. They should never be able to advertise it at $84.99 when there are $30.99 in required fees
- Comment on FCC bans cable TV industry’s favorite trick for hiding full cost of service 7 months ago:
I would hope this would also apply to the live TV streaming services like Hulu+live tv, Fubo, YouTube TV, etc. I looked into some of them, and the added fees took the monthly bill from like $83 a month to over $100 a month, but you don’t know that unless you read the disclaimers since they advertised it at $83 a month.

- Comment on What’s a “sovereign citizen “? 9 months ago:
I kinda wish the government would recognize their sovereignty, and make them pass through customs every time they leave their property, cut off their public utilities, make them apply for a work visa…you know, give them the full experience.

Yeah it’s hard to have a good faith debate about a post that wasn’t made in good faith. Anyone who’s being intellectually honest wouldn’t try to equate these company mascots.

I was a huge fan. Watched it from season one on. Even had a House Stark banner. Now I don’t even think about it unless I see it mentioned on social media. Married with Children and Aqua Teen Hunger Force spontaneously pop into my mind 10 times more often than Game of Thrones.
- Comment on AI Companies Lose $190 Billion After Dismal Financial Reports 9 months ago:
I’ll never forgive D&D for what they did to that show. It was omnipresent in public consciousness for like a decade, and they fucked the last couple seasons so badly it’s now all but forgotten. It’s almost impressive in a depressing kind of way.
- Comment on Americans rack up $19 billion in credit card debt in one month 9 months ago:
My guess would be Gen X and older millennials. Old enough to have seen all the things their parents could afford so they want them for themselves. Seems like the younger crowd is less focused on gathering possessions. I base this on my observations as an older millennial, and have absolutely no scientific data to back it up.
