That’s what it’s become. But, hear me out, what if I want the hardware without the software? Tough luck? Both are so tied together that if the company pulls the rug you don’t have reasonable access to the hardware.

I find that I can only find about 90 percent of what I want to listen to. That’s more than enough of a burden to opt out entirely. Live albums, demos, collabs, and obscure dead bands you can’t really find with great success

I agree. It always has been an arms race and probably always will be. Humans are too aggressively murdery for our own good. I mean it served us well when we actually had real wild adversaries, but now it’s tearing our civilization and planet apart.
