- Comment on Me seeing my post being removed (at least I have my muffins) 2 months ago:
if you missed the original, it had text at the top that this image has removed. said something like “men who dislike trump checking their muffins”. it was clearly a joke saying that anyone who dislikes trump is, idk, silly? bootylicious and flexible? (and therefore feminine by right wing standards i’m sure). i’m not sure what the precise nature of the insult was meant to be, but clearly anti trump people were the butt of the joke.

oh, you meant social engineering in the sense used in security, not the sense used in political science.
- Comment on What is your favorite color? 3 months ago:
i don’t get it. what would be the goal of this if it was social engineering?

if it makes you feel any better, i downvoted both of you (but this one is better because it seems to depict actual items, and not ai generated nonsense)
- Comment on YSK: it's not just Tesla, 1/3 of cars in built in the last ten years have passenger/rear windows that are almost impossible to break in an emergency. 3 months ago:
honestly, i can barely tolerate two pedal driving, but the thought of just removing the ability to actively brake in an emergency seems profoundly short sighted and dangerous.

she made a mistake. good design could have prevented her crash, and less negligent design should have let her live. absolute worst case scenario, it should have been an expensive mistake, but not a fatal one.

i felt more than a little sick to my stomach at “one pedal driving”.

with all due respect, kraft dinner is in fact the most valid mac and cheese. other cheap boxes of noodles and cheese powders are also acceptable. real cheese has no place in mac and cheese.

well, if they are all using the galactic plane, but have different standards, maybe we just didn’t know that they’re always showing klingon ships upside down.

i’ll admit it’s been a while since i’ve watched the films, but it was probably a bit more obvious with Luke, right? he wasn’t exactly hidden. he had vader’s last name and lived with vader’s family on vader’s home planet.
meanwhile leia was adopted by some rando and had her name changed to match. she probably didn’t even know she was adopted.
anyway, i will have to rewatch the OT with this in mind at some point.
- Comment on [deleted] 9 months ago:
okay, one: vader? an empath? really?
two: even if he was how is empathic reading supposed to tell him she’s his daughter? it’s telempathy, not remote gene testing. it isn’t like leia was feeling familial affection for the guy.

you’re absolutely right, but honestly, i think it is likely less of large portion, and more of just a very loud and obnoxious portion.
- Comment on How do I block all of Hexbear from All? 9 months ago:
assuming that you’re not making a joke there, ‘crypto-fascist’ has nothing to do with crypto-currency, rather it is a term used for someone who holds fascist viewpoints, but is not public about them, or who tries to be subtle about promoting fascist ideology.
- Comment on How do I block all of Hexbear from All? 9 months ago:
some clients i think have that functionality (not rightly sure which), and i know it is a planned feature for lemmy as a whole eventually, but honestly if you saw one bad post, just downvote and move on, leave a comment on it expressing your distaste, or just block the user, or the community, right? i feel like wanting to block a whole huge instance over one stupid post seems a bit over the top tbh.

i mean, that’s the risk you take, using the ‘all’ feed. you’re gonna see stuff you didn’t sign up to see. that is the point of it. if you want to see stuff you did sign up to see, you could use the ‘subscribed’ feed instead. that is what it is for.
- Comment on We need to have a serious talk about this instance being federated with Lemmygrad, Hexbear, and tankies in general 10 months ago:
I signed up for this instance specifically BECAUSE it banned them
i think you were mistaken. someone correct me if i’m wrong, but i don’t think lemm.ee ever defederated from hexbear, rather, hexbear was defederated from everyone. they quite recently changed that, and lemm.ee users then subsequently joined hexbear communities, which is why you’re now seeing them if you browse by ‘all’.

duckduckgo also served me up this absolutely deranged article, probably written by a language model, about a film called ‘Space Movie 1992’ starring Kevin Bacon about a crew of a space freighter that have to intervene in an alien war, that i am just about 100% certain has never existed. apparently it’s a hugely influential bit of cinema history though. the image at the top does appear to be from the blaxploitation film the OP is pointing everyone to though.
also, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
