Sometimes it’s the HV, sometimes it’s the AC
We turn the HVAC "up" whether we want it colder or warmer.

Just set the VAC part to suck out the undesired temperature air. 🤷♂️

This reminds me of this: in Danish, “zipping up” means both zipping and unzipping a zipper.

A lot of people in the world only have one kind of HVAC, heat or cooling, but not both.

Ummm, what kinda wacky thermostat do you have? My colder AC is with turning the temp down.

If someone says, “Turn the AC up.” you know they want it colder and you actually turn in down.

Turn the heat up and turn the AC up means fundamentally different things though.

People around me, don’t say that. We say, “Turn the temp down”.
Down!

I mean, it kinda depends on your mental model. If you think the AC is “low” as in not running a lot you can turn it “up” so it’s making things colder.
