I received a highlight for this year. It was a photo of myself bruised up from a vehicle collision. Just bruises.
I found this amusing and wondered if this would be a fitting interpretation of everyone’s year.
A massively underexposed picture of some textbook.
The metaphorical image of me being on a tiny boat lost at sea, alone, zero clue where I am, trying to find safe haven, then as my boat is drifting, I see a battle between two opposing navies, they both see me, and both immediately turns their guns towards me.
One of the gunboats is flying the 5-Star Red Flag. The other gunboat flies the Star Spangled Banner. I am unarmed, and there is no weapons on my tiny boat. My boat is flying a white flag.
There are other navies sailing by and they all just watched and decided not to intervene in a defenceless little boat being attacked by two nations.
That’s me on that tiny boat.
Alone.
Crying.
No one with me. No family. No friends. No one who I can lean my shoulder on while I face imminent defeat. Under attack from the world’s two most powerful nations. Abandones by everyone.
That’s basically how I’m feeling right now.
No safe haven. No one wants me.

Oh there are two different sides of me. The awkward one feels like I don’t deserve to exist, and the absolute dance goddess who looks like a fairy in the sky. Take your pick between my two alter egos but photos do exist of both.
How exactly does a person have a photo of awkward, undeserving existence?

Rule 2 is that the entire thought must be in the title. Do you think you could edit your post?
Ideally shower thoughts are applicable to lots of people. See the side bar for examples. I guess the fact that the prior year has been bruising could be generally applicable.
