I thought genital crabs were almost a thing of the past due to the sudden popularity of pubic waxing/shaving.

Saw a story where people were volunteering to host crabs so they can be studied before they go extinct. Let’s just say I’ve fucked several dozen people and haven’t had but one case of crabs, 30+ years ago.

I am not familiar with the required slang. Could somebody ELI5 me?

I’m pretty sure they’re talking about catching pubic lice (genital crabs) either due to sleeping around, or the Myrtle Beach area being kind of shady.
I went there with my family when I was a kid, and yeah… Our hotel was fine but the place was giving old, and I’ll never forget this mom who let her kids play in a nasty ass abandoned jacuzzi pool that was off-colored and had cigarette butts in it…

Living in NC, when I was a kid, we went to Myrtle beach once a year.
Now as a father myself, hell would freeze over before I take my runt to Myrtle.
Go to the outer banks.

Driving around the East Coast seeing “OB” bumper stickers on so many cars virtue signalling about that place but I’m from the west coast and it took me awhile to realize they weren’t all bragging about Ocean Beach in San Diego CA or ob tampons.

Nah outer banks is a killer spot - wife wanted to go and take maternity pictures at the beach, so we went to the OB for the first time.
Very chill place - not a lot of nightlife as the population is so low, but you also won’t get stuck with a dirty needle on the beach or stabbed on the strip so. There’s that.

Truly, the trashiest of vacation beaches.

glad to see i am not the only one didn’t like the experience there. it all felt like everyone was trying to get me to spend my dollars while giving nothing of value in return, classic tourist trap

Grew up there. Myrtle Beach is the kind of place where everyone has 3 jobs and no money. The place thrives on tricking others into relieving them of theirs.

Wow, our family has gone 3 times now in the past 5 years. It’s always been great for us. As someone trying to get the cheapest vacation with the most value, this was really the only spot to go. Sure, the hotel rooms were not the greatest, but they had on-site watersides, kids’ pools, lazy river, and multiple indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubs. Beach was just past that. Idk where you’re from, but for someone in NJ, there is nothing that I have found that offers anything like that from here all the way down. Entire week was like $1700. If I wanted a hotel half as good here, it’s like $4k to 5k for the same week. The only complaints I have are some sketchy areas to be avoided, but we got the same problems up here. They are all tourist traps, but I would rather spend the least to give my kids a decent time. Also, the beach is way nicer than NJ!
Maybe one day I’ll have some extra money to go somewhere else…
