Lol i love how something so massive was just given an arbitrary 1 year date. We all know it’s because nobody dealing with this has any clue what the impact is, and any that do don’t care because it will probably be making them more money… no way this all happens within a year, and if it does it’s gonna be a shit show.

- Comment on What are your hallmark games? What games have shaped how you view games? 1 week ago:
Your not old, your me!. Most of these plus some others definitely, plus a bunch of modern ones as well. Shocked you only liked Half-Life 1 and not 2. I thought 2 was mind blowing at the time and still feel like it’s the first game to bring us into the modern era of games to this day.

- Comment on Nvidia's new DLSS 5 Brings Photo-Realistic Lighting To RTX 50-Series 2 weeks ago:
I was expecting the worst from the comments here, but what I saw looked really good. Lighting has always been the one thing games have struggled with and ray tracing was a nice step in the right direction but we know its just to taxing on hardware and even 5 years later still not to much better. Offering new ways to bring high quality lighting to scenes really does make scenes stand out. It really works well with cracks like when they showed cobblestone paths each stone looks like its own unique step now and everything looks pronounced.
I have been following Crimson Desert for a bit and the new videos that came out highlight just how much better landscapes and rooms are using the highest settings which include realistic lighting and not only looks insane but they found ways to make it less taxing on the system as well. Although it’s different from what this is offering I do believe this will be the focus of the industry for the forseeable future.
I am not sure why there is so much hate.
- Comment on Crimson Desert's PS5 Physical Edition Won’t Run Without 48GB Day-One Download 3 weeks ago:
Nothing new. The timeline for physical games being created is always several months prior to release using the final build at the time. The only confusing part seems to be that the game can be used offline until a new patch? If the system is not online at all how will it know a new patch exists? If the game checks in when booted then thats not offline either.

This is one of the few good things having the same job for 20 years has been. Never needing to create a linkdin account. I’ve been told in the past it’s still good to have, but i think that period of time is long gone. Glad i never gave them my info and time.

It’s almost like there’s reasons why we negotiate instead of just bombing people into oblivion. Can’t wait to see how the US spins this one with flat out lies with how good we are.

- Comment on Are achievements still relevant in 2026—especially when mods disable them? 3 weeks ago:
Makes no difference to me. I don’t mind them either way, but considering how they do nothing to effect the game i would say keep them. If anything they serve a purpose of statistics and possibly how far you are into a game. Considering i have never played a game with mods they are never disabled for me either. Ive been there when they started which i think was the year after the PS3 launched so 2007 or 2008 when the update came to introduce them. Its pretty cool seeing almost 20 years worth of that data on what i did and in what year i did it.
- Comment on Are achievements still relevant in 2026—especially when mods disable them? 3 weeks ago:
I did the same thing even on my PS5. Saved the file like normal which saved to the cloud, then i disabled cloud saving and proceeded to do everything else off that save to get each ending and then copy that cloud save back down overriding my local save. I was shocked it worked so well. I think i ran into 1 issue with getting all the weapons since 1 could not be obtained again in the first play through but i had my friend join my game and he gave me the weapon and laughed when we realized it worked. I love that i not only beat that game but also got every achievement, so i guess that means i do enjoy them.

The biggest gambler i know is a VP in accounting. He has been since I met him right outside of college. If anything he does make a lot more reasonable bets and finds loopholes to make the best of his bets. The thing is he keeps a spreasheet for the year to track what he spends and honestly he is almost always ahead by a lot or sometimes break even or slightly under. I have never seen him actually lose so he is a terrible example of having a gambling addiction lol. We all say he is one of the luckiest people we know which also stems from the fact that when we play poker he will almost always hit the statistically low percentage card needed to win and it’s frustrating to say the least.
- Comment on Xbox as a platform is officially dead 4 weeks ago:
Once we created standards to create everything we see today it became to expensive to invest in alternative home grown solutions. Sadly with the focus of maximizing profit over innovation most ideas just revolve around the existing infrastructure in place to do what they want. I hate it as well and everything feels very stagnant.

I’ll have plenty of time to try it work, but I stop at 11 for personal use… long time coming but them putting a date on 12 means I now have my date to get off Windows altogether.
- Comment on Is there any reason not to charge my laptop with a USB C phone charger? 4 weeks ago:
I have done this for years now and seen no problems. I have a Lenovo from my job and it can use and 85 watt charger for steady charging but my 4 bank phone charger is a 100 watt charger with the highest port charging at 65 watt if only 1 device is plugged in. It does fine with this, but i do get the message in windows stating slow charge. I only use this on trips to avoid taking more things than i have to.

That was me. Around 2009 I remember first hearing about it and trying to buy it and quickly realizing it wasnt that easy and seemed sketcky so i just said whatever… i wonder what I would have done if I did.
My 18 was also way before (2000) this so i hope i remember it for that long. And honestly life was good up until 2009 so i wouldnt really change any of that anyway. 2009 on could have used some improvements…

This is fantastic. Just goes to show what kind of people that Shirley guy surrounds himself with already. He probably believes that being interviewed should only reflect the views he agrees with and not be a fair nuetral ground where if you fuck up then you fucked up. The people he surrounds himself with all edit those parts out which is half the problem on it’s own. I always liked Andrew for that reason, he definitely never seemed to take 1 side and has no problem showing captured footage of you making yourself look bad.

- Comment on Rufus blames Microsoft for allegedly blocking latest Windows 11 ISO downloads 1 month ago:
Over the past few years i have also realized rufus is the only thing making windows 11 installs easy or even possible. I had several devices i needed to get onto 11 and i remember 1 laptop i tried for days doing so many different things and it would just fail most of the way through and i couldnt figure out why. I then found rufus and saw that it allows some changes to get it working on some older devices andbit worked perfectly on the first try. Idk what MS is doing but they continue to screw up time after time.
