- Comment on Microsoft’s new genAI model to power agents in Windows 11 44 minutes ago:
I was already looking around. I work in IT, so I am not completely oblivious to using Linux or how it works. I tested a few out a long time ago, and we have a few systems in production at work. I was going to try out Mint, Elementary, Pop, and KDE Neon before deciding. So far I got Mint spun up as a VM and played around a little. KDE Neon just gave me a black screen after it installed, which stinks because it was the one I was leaning towards the most. I haven’t gotten to the other 2 yet.
- Comment on Microsoft’s new genAI model to power agents in Windows 11 12 hours ago:
Yup, I finally may be trying out some Linux versions soon to find one to switch to… I have always been whatever about what Microsoft does, and it’s always been simple enough to fight back and stop whatever crap I never wanted. This announcement just feels like there’s no way it will stop, and it’s becoming way more frequent. I hate AI, and im tired of it being shoved in my face or running my services.
I find it funny to see all the stuff they try to add or do and really wonder if they came out with windows 12 in 2 flavors, 1 being a continuation of what it is now, and 2nd being a completely stripped down version that offers nothing but the OS with nothing else in the background running or spying and no apps built in which one would sell more. The funny thing is they would probably charge you way more for the stripped-down version, and it would still probably sell more.
- Comment on How to "Reformat" a Hardrive the American way 2 days ago:
To this day, Maxtor was the only drive that took a complete dump on me… because of that, I have always had bias towards that brand. This is over 30 years of using computers and as someone who worked tech support for a company of 5 thousand people. This failure happened at my job, and that person was not very happy.

I just looked it up. I’m not sure how I missed this one, but i guess im not missing much. Sad because the trailer looked OK and the team behind it should have at least made an average game. I guess I’ll read up on what makes it so bad now.

Yup, she left after 2 seasons. Replaced by Debbe Dunning. I just looked up a pic, and honestly, I stand by my comment. This pic looks a lot like her!

This sounds like a plot to a Seinfeld episode.
- Comment on 'We're done with Teams': German state hits uninstall on Microsoft 1 week ago:
I’m definitely in the minority, but i really never had or have any issues with Windows or Teams like everyone seems to complain so much about. With that said, I absolutely love that they are making this move. As someone who works in the area and sees the pricing and how much our company spends on Microsoft I find it appalling and absurd that anyone is willing to spend that much on licensing… I wish I could work on a project like this just to see what the savings could be overall.

It says they will be replaced soon, so im assuming it’s phase 2.
- Comment on Same-date PC ports of PS5 games remain unlikely, as Sony talk up "thoughtful" multiplatform approach despite Xbox comparisons 1 week ago:
I’ll never understand the hate for doing this. To me, it makes perfect sense as to why you would not release the game on PC at the same time. If you don’t have people buying your system, then you’re done. Xbox is going through this now. It seems almost guaranteed they give up on developing systems and pivot exclusively to PC someday. I’ll be shocked if that handheld system they are about to release takes off.
Keep the exclusives and timed releases. If I really want to play it, I’ll buy the system or wait, it’s not a big deal.

This reminds me of a lot of people at my job. If something is not right, they have no idea that it’s wrong, why it’s wrong, or how to fix it. Thinking is very much out of the question for lots of people.
- Comment on Android 16 is here 1 week ago:
And here i am with my phone still stuck on 14… I know it was a short time between 15 and 16 but still, catch up a little bit! Honestly my only complaint about Android. I am not a fan of the pixel series either.

- Comment on Xbox and Asus introduce the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X gaming handhelds 2 weeks ago:
I don’t dislike what I saw. Personally, I just think they are already too late to enter the market and be a big success. We just saw the numbers that Linux is killing it in almost all categories on the Legion compared to a windows OS, which is pretty bad news to have less than a month before showcasing this. It’s not like the Xbox brand is doing that wonderful these days, either. I think it will sell but not do as good as expected, and they will move on or completely give up. From what I hear, Xbox in general, is barely holding on these days. I love what gamepass did, but that may be all that remains if they can’t sell more hardware.
If I had to pick any 1 device that’s either out now or soon to be out, I am definitely not picking this one. I will also be sad if they fail since we all know the competition is what keeps things from getting stagnant and also keep prices down.
- Comment on Xbox and Asus introduce the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X gaming handhelds 2 weeks ago:
It’s officially the era of the handheld. There’s going to be so many failures… nobody is going to buy all these different options, 1 or 2 will succeed, and the others will fade out once they realize the numbers will never be what they expected.

- Comment on Nintendo warns Switch 2 GameChat users: “Your chat is recorded” 2 weeks ago:
When i was younger and only a few years into my career, I and a coworker talked crap about our 2 bosses for a while over Google chat. It’s what we were asked to use back them internally, but it wasn’t even our work accounts. We only talked because they were being absolutely awful. Well, joke was on us when they got suspicious and searched our computers and found the chats were locally saved… Oops! They gave us another chance shockingly but did chew us out. I’m still at this place, but none of those people exist here anymore and that was super long ago.

I am in the minority but if i ever had a fridge that’s costing me money like that it would never be a brand I would ever associate with ever again and the current one is being tossed ASAP. I’m also not connecting fridges to my wifi either because why should it be?
- Comment on The Witcher 4 - Cinematic Trailer | State of Unreal 2025 2 weeks ago:
Not even, it’s a tech demo and has nothing to do with the game outside the assets used. That village will most likely not exist in the final product. I still think it looks fantastic and can’t wait to see more. I would hope this means they are close to releasing something later this year and maybe even get a release date.
- Comment on AI company files for bankruptcy after being exposed as 700 Indian engineers - Dexerto 3 weeks ago:
It says it’s been doing this for 8 years. So, since AI hasn’t even been around that long, does that mean they were always like this and just lied that they switched over to AI? I wonder if they just encouraged the current employees to field the response and then they would run it through another AI to provide answers. Either way there had to be some delay which I feel would have been the dead giveaway?

Hey Baldur’s Gate 3 only came out 2 years ago! I know what you mean though. It’s rare when you play something that feels effortless and you want to keep playing it because it’s that good. This game definitely had that! I luckily saw the trailer last fall and fell for it then. I didn’t want to get my hopes up with how things are these days but I gave it a shot and was my first day one release game in over a year I think. Took the day off and I was soo happy I did.
- Comment on Better music management 4 weeks ago:
I am also using Navidrome and Symfonium. It’s about as good as local library playback can get! Thanks for a new one to try Feishin, never heard of it before. I have tried setting up Lidarr, but I never got it to grab stuff and rename it to what i like, so I stopped. I’m sure I probably could, but I didn’t want to spend the time trying.
My current setup is grab from Orpheus or redacted, run it through program generically called tagscanner (been using it for years and love it) then drop everything into musicbrainz Picard with custom setup to only grab genres for everything and will attach up to 5 different ones. From there, i move everything to the music library by artist and subfolder for albums. Once there, i load Musicbee, which is my pc app of choice because of the customization and audio playback quality. Once there, if any album art is missing, it’s easily discoverable and then loaded into navidrome.
The hardest part was discovering that I should organize properly after a decade of collecting music, and it took months to reorganize and tag everything properly. I had to do that once more with genres. Once I figured out how to automate that and would take chunks at a time and have it do it over days, which also took months. It’s been about 10 years of me doing it this way and has worked great if not a bit tedious.

Thanks! What makes it so bad? Doesn’t run well? I would absolutely like to try it if it means no monthly payment, and it’s basically the same game. I just wanted to see it and mess around for a few hours.

I remember that as well. You absolutely needed to be in a complete party just to tackle regular areas. I saw in the notes they have been focusing on allowing single player runs work better since I’m sure finding a party is probably close to impossible these days.

I kind of want to dive in for a month just to see if I remember anything about it. I played it on PC back when it dropped in 2003, so 22 years ago. It was the first MMO I really got into and so I would love to see if I remember the world at all if I set it up today.
