“I walked among those who want me gone from Australia”

No, they just want to temporarily stop letting more people into Australia until we can house and provide for the people we currently have, yourself included.

Why are so many people having a hard time understanding this?

Why are so many people having a hard time understanding this?

Because its the same as blaming immigrants for Aldi running out of some.Wednesday special, one thing has nothing to do with the othe, so suspicion then falls to racism being the real motivation becase no sane person balmes the housing shortage on immigrants.

It’s a managed, restricted supply thats the issie, compounded by dipshit voters reelecting the asshat polticans who cause it, rather then giving politcans who want to solve it a go eg The Greens.

We punish the homeless, protect the investor and blame the immigrants, talk about ass backwards.

So bringing in even 1000 more people every day, who need places to live, gas nothing to do with making housing availability worse?

So increasing demand while keeping supply the same, when there is a massive supply shortage, has no effect on availability?

What if I told you we could feed and house everyone now, the rich just don’t want to. If that’s what these people really cared about, they would have been marching against the stage 3 tax cuts. They’re racist nazis and can all bugger off.

The stage 3 cuts that meant more lower income earners are better off? Why would they protest those?

Keep calling everyone Nazis, it worked out well for the democrats. I’m sure it’ll work out well for you too.

That’s the line racist people love to go with.

It falls apart when you suggest spending a ton of cash on social welfare programs to help those locals and get told “well, no actually”.

Ah so you’re just going to pretend that the very real reason is a fake used by racists, simply because you have no actual reason to disagree with it and because it’s not actually racist. Gotcha.

I mean, some literal quotes in the article, if they are real, kinda contradict you.

Some people at the pro-Palestine rally’s shouted death to Australia, etc - does that mean everyone there thinks that?

I wish that was all that it was, a lot of those marches were pretty heavily coopted by some incredibly racist people though and they’re pretty tarnished as a result. The neo Nazis showing up in force sorta drove that point home.

I think that our immigration rate is too high, but those protests in particular didn’t really contain themselves to just that issue.

Small correction. They were co-opted, they were organised by some incredibly racist people: www.abc.net.au/news/2025-08-28/…/105657548

The “neo Nazis” were told to fuck off in most of the marches, actually. No one wanted them there. I believe it was only the Sydney one that let one of them speak, and the organisers were rightly derided for doing so.

Just because some bad people try to co-opt something it doesn’t mean that they were bad people protests. The overwhelming majority of people there were there for the stated reasons, none of which were racist or “neo nazi”.

Mostly the nazi co-opting of marches

This happened at like 1 of the marches the other day, they were told to fuck off from all the others.
