- Comment on Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke shouted at as anger erupts at Eid prayers at mosque 1 hour ago:
It’s understood that Albanese and Burke were quite upset, but the Israel lobby promised to donate another few thousand to the ALP and they were instantly put at easy
- Comment on Labor must stop juicing house prices and make buying a home the Australian dream – not negatively gearing one | Greg Jericho 1 week ago:
That’s completely not true. Look at the register of interests, few properties, many private companies. They are obviously not property investors, just simple business people. Those private companies, of course, make their money from, you guessed it, property investment
- Comment on Two robodebt officials engaged in serious corrupt conduct, Nacc finds, but Scott Morrison cleared 1 week ago:
They found their scapegoats, how cute.
- Comment on An 18-year-old woman in Queensland faces two years in jail for wearing a shirt that says "from the river to the sea." 1 week ago:
The public prosecutor would need to prove the shirt was used to “menace, harassment or offence”. Even a mediocre defence lawyer should be able to have the charges thrown out.
A good lawyer will take it to the High Court of Australia and get the legislation thrown out.

I’m only ever proud of this country when people are allowed to be themselves.

- Comment on Two months into the social media ban, a teenager says it's 'useless' 1 month ago:
I agree. The failure of the Israeli propaganda freaked governments out.
Hence this dumb shit and its clones across the globe and the US purchase of TikTok.
- Comment on Australia should reconsider alliance with ‘fiercely unpredictable’ US, former foreign ministers say 2 months ago:
The Australian Labor party plan is to stay silent and hope this all blows over. The Australian LNP plan is to loudly join in
- Comment on Sydney protest restrictions extended for 14 days as activist group vows to file legal challenge this week 2 months ago:
based on intelligence, risk assessment and their on-the-ground understanding of community safety.
The same intelligence, risk assessment and on-the-ground understanding that let the shooting happen in the first place? OK
- Comment on Australians Overwhelmingly In Support Of Gun Law Reform 2 months ago:
Gun regulations. Not protest regulations. As mind numbingly stupid we are as a nation. I don’t think most people really think the Akram’s were protestors.
I will ask though where are the unions? You know the reason the Labor party exists in the first place. Surely their rights to protest are sacrosanct . If a Labor government can just opportunistically ban one kind of protest an LNP can easily just ban another.

Would a message from a seven year old mastodon account work? I mean technically I could have made that when I was 8.
Or an old blog that I had back in 2012. I guess I could have been 3 when I wrote it. Certainly the writing could be that of a three year old.

- Comment on Films and video games have age classifications. Should books? 6 months ago:
I’m not opposed. It’s a clear guideline. Information for parents. Parents let kids watch R rated movies all the time. The issue will be if they start getting declared unclassified and banned.
There’s precedent, American Psycho was given an R+ rating when it was released and to be honest it deserved it. The capitalistic debauchery of the characters was grossly offensive.
- Comment on Legendary film critic David Stratton dies peacefully aged 85 7 months ago:
What a huge loss!
I lost all touch with movies when they wrapped up The Movie Show. You always knew whether a movie was in your wheelhouse based on who out of David and Margaret hated it and why.
But that was a different time.

- Comment on Josh Taylor: Australia’s potential surrender of creative content to tech giants for free is shocking. Labor must decide where it stands 7 months ago:
Listening to the politicians today on Afternoon Briefing. There is a lobby campaign from Big Tech saying “You need to hurry or you’ll miss out”. You can tell the word are coming straight from lobbyists because the politicians literally had no clue what that actually means.
