Toei Animation said in some cases, the time spent on a background was reduced to one-sixth of its normal time.
How is creator compensation changing as a result of the introduction of AI?
Are they being paid one-sixth less? Are they working one-sixth less?

Company doesn’t want to pay artists. Fify

Possibly. But there are valid uses of ai. Uses that streamline the process, take away some of the more tedious bits. Allow the artist to create more, easier. But you’re also not wrong to imply that for a corporation that will always be the exception and not the rule

Fuck being efficient all the time. That’s such a fucking capitalist mindset. That’s the excuse use by the people pushing this slop technology into every aspect of life. It’s designed to remove people from art and to save companies money by removing the human cost.
These “valid uses of Ai” are not valid if they could have just paid someone to do the work.

Japan is speedrunning destroying a world renowned industry. The scandals about corporations not paying artists are piling up at this point.

It’s not just Japan. It’s all corporations.
This is a collective effort from the owning class to remove humans from art and to make it purely business.
Like the loom example. They didn’t destroy fabric weaving, they just outsourced it to child labourers in third world countries. That what Ai is going to do with all human creations.
