Hexbear lost the domain so they are now at chapo.chat. This means that any blocks or defederation lists will need to be updated.
Can they move to the bottom of the ocean?

Damn, I didn’t realized there was so much harassment of women on Lemmy. (I read the related thread from that community)
Yes, it’s bad
If anyone wants to read how this happened and what they plan to do.
Hahaha rekt noobs
Chapo.chat has the same access problem that led to the current state of hexbear.net so it is to be considered temporary.
Lost, or “conveniently lost” as they now bypass every single instance’s defederation for a few days?
hexbear lost their domain
hahahahahah. get fucked

Do we need a decentralized DNS too?

DNS is decentralized
Anyone can run DNS and you can buy domains from many different sources

It’s not really though. Sure, you can AXFR the root nameservers and run your own copy, but that’s not really decentralizing its infrastructure. 10 of the 13 root servers are managed by US entities, including the US Army and DISA.

Would be nice but… if the domains will be free, history will repeat itself. for example, most of the
.gadomains got taken over because a lot of people abused them.
