I did, it apparently does nothing meaningful if it’s not on an individual user level.

I have them blocked in Voyager. I just don’t understand why I didn’t see any of their comments for over a year until suddenly now. I’ve been on the same instance the whole time and they only recently had their offline debacle, so it makes no sense to me why they were successfully hidden from my view for so long.

I mean, that’s what this and every time you see a conservative on TV talking about Greenland are doing, they’re greasing the wheels before the proverbial weapons of mass destruction card gets played.

WAT?

I remain convinced this is the beginning of Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia.

Not that I think military pigs are on Lemmy to read this, but only a fucking POS coward would follow those orders. Anyone invading anything on behalf of Emperor Orange is permanently dead to me.

We had fail-safes. Lots of them. Slowly but surely they’ve been errored and erased and now there’s nothing to protect the people. Don’t have blind faith in any system and stay vigilant my friends.

I totally get it, but you guys aren’t looking great right now either, a lot of the same right wing evil is rising up in every country.

I’m also curious, I spent more time figuring with SearXNG than being able to use it, and one of the numerous issues was no server seemed to stay up and they were slow when they were up.
- Comment on Mullvad's privacy-focused search engine Leta is now free for all users | Leta acts as a proxy for Google and Brave search results 4 weeks ago:
Absolutely this. I’m excited to try Mullvad, but with Kagi being the only one listed I’m never going to try, I can firmly say from my perspective search engines all suck big time these days. 15 years ago I think my search success on Google was somewhere around 80%, now I would say it’s somewhere around 20%, takes me dozens of searches and variations on wording to find what I’m looking for. DDG never gives me good results, because it feels like Bing has only crawled 10% of the Internet. SearX or whatever it’s called and it’s variations all were way more headache than they were worth and I had tons of issues with them.

Oh, I didn’t realize it was symbiotic. When do they take you for your walk and let you eat?
- Comment on A crate for puppy 5 weeks ago:
Does it? I’ve just taken it to mean enslavement. Every definition I can find lines up with pet ownership like a carbon copy.
- Comment on A crate for puppy 5 weeks ago:
I’ve never understood the copium it takes to convince yourself this isn’t just slavery of other species. They have no choice in anything without a human, from defecation to eating, and you literally cage them when they act against your wishes. I’ll take my downvotes now.
- Comment on Ukraine: Zelenskyy offers to quit in return for NATO entry 5 weeks ago:
I agree with every word, but I just feel like there’s something a little special about Ukrainians that make them willing to stand in the face of tyrants others would fold to. There’s a lot to the history of their name:

- Comment on Amazon's previous VP of Prime Gaming said they "tried everything" to disrupt Steam 1 month ago:
LMFAO, I love when someone says they tried everything when it’s so blatantly obvious they didn’t really try anything.
Both Epic and Amazon seemed to believe that if you gave out enough free games then Steam would just… Disappear? Really really dumb.
Neither company has invested any time into making their launcher any good. They haven’t invested any time into making their ecosystem feature rich like Steam. They have just given away a bunch of games and had sales and hoped that magic would take care of the rest.
Valve doesn’t even have to try to beat the competition when the competition doesn’t put any effort in.
GoG Galaxy is the only decent alternative launcher I’ve used and it’s being maintained (seemingly) by one guy who only works one day a year. It’s not as good as Steam by a long shot, but far far better than any of the launchers that come from companies WAY WAY bigger and wealthier. Even the itch.io launcher is better!!!
Blizzard, Amazon, Epic, EA, Ubisoft, and Rockstar (and more) all have their own launchers and not a single one is decent or necessary. Why make such an inferior product when Steam already exists?
- Comment on The death of capital letters: why gen Z loves lowercase 1 month ago:
I love when the worst examples are held up as representatives of the entire group. There have ALWAYS been lazy people and there have always been ignorant people. Ignoring capitalization, punctuation and grammar has always been on the table for those who have no self respect.
- Comment on Nearly half of Steam's users are still using Windows 10, with end of life fast approaching 1 month ago:
Yaaaawn. I’ve used every Windows version well past it’s EoL. The CONSTANT articles on this being shared to Lemmy just feel like pathetically trying to convert people to Linux. I couldn’t be less worried about it.
