Every holiday with fireworks I have to stay up ridiculously late to keep the dogs calm and soothe my toddler back to sleep multiple times.
We had a crazy thunderstorm until about 11:30 that kept my son up extra late. I hate thunderstoms but thought at least there won’t be fireworks. 11:31 ole reliable firework Joe around the corner was out there doing his thing and it seems like he doesn’t plan on stopping soon.
Also firework Joe sets off a ridiculous amount of stuff at 12am on Christmas eve.
Living in the south you have to contend with the drunk droolers the next street over who come out and empty their gun every thirty minutes or so until 3am.
Thankfully fireworks aren’t legal here on New Year’s. I hate them too. I hope your son got some sleep. They sure hate thunder!
Fireworks also aren’t legal in large swathes of the US. Doesn’t stop people.

Actually I just did mine just month and got my refund check today.
Must not be American lol I won’t get my W2 for another four weeks.
But I can use mine and my wife’s last pay stubs to get really close.
$40.50 to sit on the couch sounds about right for new years.
