- Comment on What is the purpose of this plastic piece? 1 month ago:
I think it’s just to stop the prongs from scuffing other things in the same package compartment. Usually you’ll get the cord in a bag or with the plastic but not both. With the cord is in a section of the packaging with other items it keeps them from getting scratched.

- Comment on how is final fantasy XVI 2 months ago:
It reminds me in a lot of ways of FFXIV. It was made by a lot of the same people so that’s no surprise. It’s fairly dark but it’s a good story. The expansions are way too short - I had hoped they’d add more depth to some of the back story.
I enjoyed the game a lot in spite of its shortcomings. It doesn’t have as much “extra stuff” to do as many other final fantasies but the core game is solid.
I ended up picking up the PC version to play through again. The PS5 version is held back a lot by the platform.

Huge fan of games like this but it seems like the Myst reference is just to draw clicks. There are tons of amazing and click adventure games.

It would be great if some reporter follows the construction of the buildings they’re going to erect for this and it turns out they invest massively in hurricane/flood proofing.

After seeing how at&t manages their systems, their app, their stores, and talking to tech support… This doesn’t surprise me at all. This all from the viewpoint of a layperson who has used them for service for 15 years or so. Unfortunately I also have a Verizon account and they seem to also be utterly incompetent. I think it’s rampant in the telecom industry to just have absolute shit for a back-end. A race to the fucking bottom. Fuck these execs that enable this shit, send them all to jail.

- Comment on Tesla to lay off everyone working on Superchargers, new vehicles 6 months ago:
Not to mention the charging infrastructure is one of the reasons some people haven’t made the switch yet. Anything holding back charging expansion is a disaster in my view.
- Comment on Framework’s software and firmware have been a mess, but it’s working on them 7 months ago:
I’ve been relatively pleased with my AMD FW13 laptop in Linux. There are a few nagging issues but they have a robust support community with posts/workarounds for common issues. I don’t regret the purchase at all and I love what framework is doing as a company.

Of all of the bullshit tech out there I’m not sure why you chose ray tracing to pick on. I remember how cool stuff like pov-ray was in the 90s and how cool it would be to have good lighting in real time some day. It’s kind of here now and it adds some flair to certain games. Far from essential but it’s more interesting than the bullshit “innovation” that happens elsewhere these days. Phones are miserable for this.
The S9 was a solid choice and came with expandable storage, a headphone jack, and a notification LED - which I miss dearly… but by goodness is it slow as hell and stopped getting security patches.
