ziplock style requires you to pinch both sides to close. it also requires you to pull both sides to open. on wearables the fabric isnt easily pinchable from both sides, you would be forced to smear it hard against your soft supple flesh to close it. a wearable pocket shouldnt require two hands to open/close because your other hand is usually occupied with the item worth storing, etc.

They make zipper-style ziplocs with sliders, no need for pinching or stretching.

Just a note for the Velcro; I ran across the video ages ago and found it really helps with keeping that ripping noise from being too audible
