Eh, you haven’t worked in good service.
What always sent me was the people who ordered gravy after telling me they were gluten sensitive…

No you don’t, not for celiac. It’s symptoms are debilitating.

It’s possible to be delibitated and not know why. Until you stop eating gluten and get better. You should watch House MD, House is always using the treatment as the test. He tries something and sees if the patient gets better. Many of those patients are dying and he still doesn’t know what they have until he tries a treatment.

House is in no way a realistic medical show

Are you saying doctors don’t give patients treatments for unknown diseases to see if they’ll work?

I remember a medical friend rolling his eyes at the show when it was airing, because usually he could guess what the end diagnosis could be from the symptoms. House was just really good at making the drama about the doctor interject and extend the eyeball time into the hour long episode

^ This.
We should have more sympathy for people who have to grapple with this shitty, under-researched allergy

I know a case like that. He was unfortunate enough to have doctors that were unable to diagnose him properly. When he started the diet in his thirties and his absolutely debilitating health condition got a lot better in so many ways, it was such a relief!

Yeah, but that’s not the gluten allergy.

The guy I was talking about in the first paragraph was a celiac.
