In Northern Canada, a test community has been heated for decades from an insulated pit of water, sand and salt heated all summer from rooftop solar water heaters. It reached 100% solar heating.
This project convinced me no one wants real solutions. The project was dismantled and replaced with gas furnaces.

Yeah, “small” quakes are a very big deal in areas where the construction isn’t designed to handle them.
