So what happens when the DOJ entirely fails to competently prosecute this case? Is he ordered released, and then the Trump Admin illegally jails a foreign leader? I just have a feeling this is going to go very poorly for the Trump Admin

He’s on trial in the Southern District of New York. 20 out of 25 judges in this district were appointed by Democrats. They specialize in white-collar crime and high-profile federal cases, and they aren’t going to go easy on the prosecution

If Maduro is willing to bribe trump/his buddies with oil, anything is on the table.
If trump wants maduro dead, all he has to do is have a crony contact those who oppose him and let them know when he’s being dropped off.
