Honestly, I hope it flops for what they have done. I’m happy for Arc Raiders, a great example of how they should have done it.

That’s good for the artist, but I’ll be very surprised if this game recovers from the lost goodwill. Especially with how successful arc raiders is, I don’t see this game carrying the hype it did before

You hope it flops because of a few assets stolen from an artist.
I hope it fails for parading around the dead corpse of the Marathon IP with really bad makeup and the limbs sewn on in the wrong places.
We are not the same.

Same. I had hope originally because I’m a huge halo fan .. but this is not the same Bungie that made halo CE – reach

This should have been an actual marathon sequel. Not some live service trash that’s gonna be forgotten about in a year or 2 at absolute best

Sony doesn’t want a single player or even co-op sequel to an old Macintosh shooter though, they want live service money.

This game didn’t stand a chance regardless of this incident.

I’d bet some significant amount of the hype was from people thinking “Oh, sick! The Marathon franchise is getting a revival!” without realizing that the new game had essentially no relation to the Marathon franchise they remembered. I don’t know who they think is sitting around thinking, “You know what I want? Another live service extraction shooter.”
