noooo, please ;_; please give the game a chance. I def does work on linux and has prob one of the best gameplay and characters ever. I have 300+ hours (ik it’s small but still)and I fucking love this game. Every massive update they release is included in the base game which honestly feels pretty rare nowadays and even then. One of the main reasons why I ever got into warhammer and not even the 40k stuff.

I won’t contribute to metrics that allow publishers to think that adding a kernel level root kit to a game is behavior to be rewarded.

I enjoyed this game.
Respect for sticking to your principles. You’re on the right side of things by not giving in.

I have been meaning to respond earlier but I fell asleep x_x.
i think i need to re-evaluate where I draw rhe line. you are 100% right and shit, if I could remove anti-cheat for a title, it would def be this one because its such a gem compared to other games.
I honestly haven’t played it since pvp came out and don’t really remember when easy anti-cheat was added. Even though the company does put effort in getting the linux version eac working, shits still wrong and tbh normies like me should be thinking more about it.

Thanks for the heads up. I was about to check whether I’d enjoy it.

What really sucks is that it was added somewhat recently with their new pvp mode, which I couldn’t care less about. I paid for the game, and they made it unplayable for me.

EAC works on Linux, FatShark just didn’t initially choose that option, and about a year ago game became playable again. IIRC you should choose a beta workaround version in your steam client for that.
Yet, it’s fair to feel salty about that. Versus is a fine gimmick but wasn’t worth introducing EAC, like gatekeeping mods wasn’t too. It is too heavy-handed for a game with a small, tight-knit community, that would rather play a four Bardin game than install wallhack or aimbot for whatever reason.

Had the exact same reaction. Love that Steam keeps this very visible.
The price would have to go negative before I’d consider letting this rot in my library unplayed.

You can apparently play it fine on Linux these days: www.protondb.com/app/552500
(Obviously there is no kernel level anti-cheat there).
