Ahh I remember this so well. My friend at school tried to set me up with a girl by getting her to add me on MSN. I never even knew what she looked like but my friend said she was cute. It was such a thrill to my ~15 year old self and I got such a warm and giddy feeling at the idea this girl liked me and that I was potentially going to get a girlfriend.
Eventually she sent me a low res picture of herself on a crappy webcam and I was in love.
After a while I met up with her and my friend + his girlfriend. Unfortunately she showed absolutely no interest in me when we met face to face, much to my disappointment. So that went nowhere.
MSN messenger was the shit in it’s day though!

This is going to have a horrific effect on kids seeking out advice or support on the internet, especially ones who have nobody to turn to.

- Comment on Is Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just another ‘lazy’ addition to the franchise? 2 weeks ago:
COD suffered two deaths. The first was when it just became boring and familiar, which differs for everyone, but for me it was after MW3. Same shit every year.
The second was when it tried to chase the Fortnite/hero shooter trend, and lost its identity entirely. There is no theme anymore, it’s just a bunch of “operators” (celebrities and shit) fighting each other without any context on random maps. Nicki Minaj being a playable character pretty much sums up what the franchise has become. A completely unserious pile of slop.

I’m from Northern Ireland, we know a fair bit about flags. They’re pretty much always used to mark territory, and make it clear who is welcome and who is not.

I greatly admire people who do things like this, it takes courage. They’ll get hammered with the usual criticisms “quit your job if you don’t like it”, and “terrorist supporter” and the same old anti-activist bullshit.
It takes a backbone to put your reputation and career on the line. Even if the likelihood of succeeding in your goals is miniscule.

I hate this too, it reminds you constantly as if its something dangerous that you shouldn’t forget about. A small beep once every 20 minutes would suffice. Not only that, but a lot of modern Bluetooth headphones last for quite a long time after the battery goes below 20%.

- Comment on Wikipedia loses challenge against UK Online Safety Act rules 3 weeks ago:
We all feel bad for each other. Europe and North America are going down the fucking toilet fast. We’re all implementing authoritarian laws, we’re just in varying stages of doing so or prioritising one thing over another.
UK is banning porn sites, wikipedia, and protest, US is deploying the national guard to the streets and has ICE acting like the Gestapo. EU is lagging behind the UK but looks to be on track for implementing the same things. Not to mention the widespread indirect support of a genocide.
Things are bad for us all. But I support the efforts of people everywhere who are fighting to make the future look a little less bleak.
