Comment on Navy removes signs claiming a Mexican beach is US territory
huppakee@piefed.social 1 day ago
Reports of unidentified men arriving at the beach by boat to install signs prompted the response from Mexico’s Naval Ministry (Semar).
The signs reportedly stated in Spanish and English that the area was Department of Defense property and a “Restricted Area” by order of “the commander.” They also said that “unauthorized entry is prohibited,” as are photography or drawings, and stated, “If you are found here, you may be detained and searched.”
Sheinbaum said her government was communicating with U.S. authorities in order to get an explanation.
“First, the consulate was consulted, then the embassy,” she said. “They hadn’t issued an official report, so the signs were removed. Later, a U.S. government agency stated that a company had indeed been hired to put them up.”
The Pentagon said in a statement that contractors would work with “appropriate agencies to avoid confusion in the future.”
The US is run by amateurs.

The gov is doing this thing with the signs because “trespassing” into the 100 ft.-wide “military base” is a much more serious crime than just crossing the border not at a port of entry.
The civilian chucklefucks they hired to put the signs up apparently failed to notice where they crossed the mouth of the river.
“secure border”
I’d like to conclude with a quote from Woody Guthrie:
There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me. Sign was painted, said, “Private Property” But on the back side, it didn’t say nothing. This land was made for you and me.
Banana republic any % speedrun
Shoot them on sight and they'll learn not to put those signs up, eventually
Professional Nazis aren't amateur.

I would say it’s run by professionals.
Just not the kind of professionals that you would expect to run a government, and certainly not the kind of professionals that should have any kind of business running any kind of modern country, anywhere.
Professional propagandists. Professional con artists. Professional liars…. i’m sure many more people can fill in what i’ve missed.

I don’t disagree, they are capable of a great many things. Most of the things they’re good are, aren’t doing the US much good. But they aren’t skilled at running a country or maintaining international relations. Not sure whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Look around. It’s a bad thing.

Could always be worse is what I meant by that. It’s obv that it’s a bad thing they’re in charge.
