Over 9 million copies of Euro Truck Simulator 2 have been sold, according to a Renault Trucks press release from March 2024. That’s a staggering number, reflecting the game’s enduring popularity.
ETS2 is getting a bus expansion too so you can drive buses instead of trucks of you prefer. The American counterpart ATS (same game engine, same studio and updated in lockstep with ETS2) is similarly getting a road trip expansion, where you can drive many classic American cars on a road trip.
Honestly I highly recommend the games because they’re incredibly chill driving simulators
this game is great, i installed it just now. I heard the game is bad, but even still, i assumed the ui problems must have been from running the game through proton. but no, it’s literally just that bad
also, on wikipedia there’s a picture of the truck climbing a steep mountain. but what it doesn’t show is that the truck actually goes much faster up steep mountains than over flat land because the physics system is terrible and the car doesn’t slow down at all horizontally when it starts moving vertically.
The play is fun, but you can get the highlights from watching the hilarious videos people have made on them. Just in case anyone wants to save the megabytes on the hard disk ;)

That’s pretty amazing. I’ve never played the game but it looks pretty chill.
Sometimes I really get in the mood for chill games like Stardew Valley or NetHack! Maybe I’ll check out ETS2 sometime!
