For anything that calls for ground beef, I usually sub TVP or green lentils. Both are cheap, shelf stable and healthy options.

Last time I checked ground beef was $6 a pound. It is now a luxury I no longer buy.

Whenever I’ve been going to the local Kroger, I try to find discount ground meats. You can usually find some good deals and you can freeze them.
