Made me realize how similar cable is to the Spanish and Portuguese for “hair” (cabello and cabelo, resp.). And how cables and hair are related too, I suppose.

Isn’t Spanish for cable just cable (Cah-blay)? That’s what I’ve seen used in Mexico.
LanguageIsCool@lemmy.world 2 months ago
I think so, yeah. Seeing cable misspelled as “cabel” made it click lol

That’s so accurate how’d you find that character
MisterFrog@lemmy.world 2 months ago
I feel like the original commenter didn’t really provide what I think you’re looking for.
The service you’re likely looking for is something like this: shapecatcher.com
If you’re a learner of Chinese (or Japanese, I think? I assume they use this character also) then this character is very basic so would quickly come to mind (大 dà: “big”).
Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 months ago
lol it doesn’t support japanese/korean/chinese characters, so like precisely what people would want to use it for
dutchkimble@lemy.lol 2 months ago
Thanks for that! Useful to know
CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 2 months ago
I just searched “copy Chinese characters.”

I thought that was a t. Took me a while to figure out that “Cheetos bait” isn’t a thing.
