This sub exists because right-wing spaces like r/Conservative don’t allow open debate. They heavily moderate discussions to remove opposing viewpoints, creating an echo chamber where only their narrative is reinforced. When conservatives complain that they aren’t represented here, it’s worth asking why—perhaps because in their own spaces, dissenting voices are banned, while here, discussion is actually allowed.

Why does this sub even exist? It’s just turned into lefties patting themselves on the back for owning conservatives that I’m pretty sure aren’t even here.

I think you just gave it a raison d’ être

Before that, this comm was just very sparse troll posting. No one was willing to engage in discussions. The OPs would tell you things like “no, I don’t want to explain myself, Lemmy is full of leftist that will down vote and insult me”. Well, if you post hateful, bigoted stuff and don’t even want to talk about it, you get what you get…
At least, the parody comm is an opportunity to engage in discussions. Yes, that’s true, it’s no longer a community for conservatives to discuss, but they had their chance. This community was allowed to exist here, but it didn’t bring anything of value to anyone.

It’s called parody. It’s very hard to do when talking about people that are the embodiment (and origin) of Poe’s Law, so I appreciate everyone’s effort.

Conservatives don’t take well to parody, which makes it work even better
