- Comment on Google's AI chatbot tells student seeking help with homework "please die" 1 week ago:
It had 2 alternative “normal” answers, both on topic and in scope of what he was asking.
It later admitted that the answer wasn’t adequate ( i wonder how and who got it to say this )
But, yeah this one answer is eerie in its complete annihilation of one human being’s worth of being alive.
“This is for you, human” makes it sound like it is sentient.
“You and only you” gave me goosebumps.
I know, it’s just gathering answers from all kinds of sources it was trained with, but hell no

True, but not everybody is built the same. I can imagine someone being so uncomfortable with it, that it would detract from the exercise…

- Comment on Everything on credit 4 weeks ago:
I remember visiting my family in Brasil some 20 years ago. Lots of stores had their own financing-long-term offers. People would then continue buying without bothering with details, each buy would add to a total sum.
There’s no way to check if the total amount was correct, without including the % they had to pay for the credit, which changed every month.
A tedious task most people didn’t bother with.
- Comment on Israel’s plan to ban Unrwa from accessing Gaza marks new low in its relations with UN 4 weeks ago:
Yes - the genocide is going strong and no one’s batting an eye. I’m even starting to avoid conversation with friends about. I never felt so unsafe amongst friends. I’m in Germany and globally no one talks about it, but also Germany is sending lots, lots of weapons to Israel and it doesn’t even try to persuade Netanjahu to drop anything…
Everyday i wake up and think i’m in the wrong reality.

All studies about this are still too recent to have reached your common school. Teachers fall exactly in the age span of people that can’t let go of their phones in an almost unhealthy way and probably were pretty excited, when they found this game online - to share with the kids.
That’s just my impression though

The problem is also people, like project managers, suddenly coming in and showing us what his AI companion responded to the bug we were hunting.
See? Just do it like this, isn’t that hard.
I took a look and it was so wrong, but written with so much confidence, that everyone thinks, that’s it. The correct answer.
When i told him that, he just waved it away.
For many this is like “at last i can see what the devs really do, how much code they write, how long it should take.”

Apparently his ex-wife, his now mother-in-law, accepted it in a way, that they are all pretty close.
