A range of cylinders which could possible get stuck in an M&M tube.
- Comment on Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, a great looking game but with pacing issues 3 days ago:
I liked it being slower because I went in with the expectation of it being a much more chill game. Trying to accomplish everything or rush through it seems antithetical to the cozy vibe. I understand what you mean generally, though. Like I play “Tails of…” games and the ff7 remake mostly with auto combat and turn the difficulty down on a lot of others because that’s not what I’m drawn to and that’s fine.

- Comment on best episodes for people who've never seen star trek? 3 weeks ago:
It’s been a while, so may be slightly off with some of this but: There’s someone mocking another person in the very first scene of the first episode. Characters continue to mock each other throughout the rest of the episode. When that happened with Barclay on the Enterprise it was a big enough deal that they spent a whole episode dealing with it. Someone’s drunk on the job, another person is selling weapons (in a post scarcity society which doesn’t make sense even, and the excuse is that bureaucracy is too slow which sets up conflict), the captain has people tattling on each other. It’s like the characters are all assholes that hate management and management feels the same.

Data doesn’t stop people from smoking, being antivax, etc. Stories move people more than data when emotions are involved. So whoever is writing this is just doing what the data say to do, ironically.
- Comment on Driver claims cyclist punched him in face and threw bike at car, causing £1,000 worth of damage, after motorist hit him “at about 2mph” 5 weeks ago:
No, you don’t get it, haven’t be hit, or don’t cycle. Drivers not paying attention can be deadly. Even if being inattentive to a cyclist when it’s a light bump weren’t a biggie (it is. Any time you hit somebody with a vehicle that weighs over a ton on the lighter end, it’s a big deal), doing it at speed is without questions. I think the second cyclist isn’t that extreme in that the not paying attention puts people at risk regardless of the current situation and can arguably be treated as the same root cause. People are dumb and if they haven’t figured out they need to pay attention while in a vehicle, they should be made uncomfortable. Their level of discomfort shouldn’t be placed above the safety of others.

There is no passing. Executive orders don’t create new laws. You can’t be charged with burning a flag. You can and will be arrested for something else if you do this, though.

A friend got me to try an episode of Lower Decks and it felt so cynical to me. To explain why I wasn’t interested in watching more, we watched Darmok and Measure of a Man. Trek was very aspirational back then.

- Comment on [Discussion] What is the most niche genre that you like? 1 month ago:
Watakoi has straight up physical and emotional abuse going on with that secondary couple.
You made me realize the genre is so sparse that most of what I’ve found has been manga. The single anime I can think of off the top of my head word be Signs of Affection, but it’s college and only the first season is out. As for manga:
Complete:
- Sweat and Soap - they get together early in the story and actually have sex and communicate about their problems
- Telework Yotabanashi - one volume, this is what got me introduced to the author of Sweat and Soap.
Ongoing:
- Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You. This one is much more drawn out, but the main characters are so earnest and emotionally supportive of each other.

Because of the swift and gluttonous bone eating camel slug that has infected almost all camels, many of the camel bones have yet to be discovered. Psychics have been used to fill in where science has failed, though with new methods both for combatting the slugs and looking inside of live camels on the horizon, many are eager to discover the remaining bones.

From the textbook The New Old Sexuality: A Cross Cultural Look at Kink
Achieving orgasm through pain has several phases shown as wave-like peaks in this image. The phases are known as the Western Pain (WP), Trough of Shift (ToS), Western Orgasm (WO), Refractory Trough (RT), Eastern Pain (EP), Trough of Ascendance (TA), and Eastern Orgasm (EO, also known colloquially as the And-gasm). Research into new phases tentatively called the Northern Orgasm (or exclusive or-gasm) is ongoing but requires pain beyond what stupid Donna on the ethics committee is willing to approve.

It is becoming a bit easier to express individuality in Japan, but that definitely does not apply to most people working a corporate job. Any given picture of a crowded Japanese street that indicates rush hour will have a bunch of people in suits/etc with standard hair. Off hours or in the bigger cities there might be a more interesting sample.

Idiotectomies required the subject’s corporation for the best results. Hanneman’s (Journal of Medical Ethics, June 2017) breakthrough, illustrated here, uses bomb glasses to increase compliance. It is rare the fuse needs to be lit, but a lighter should be kept in plain view of the subject as both reminder and enforcement if necessary.
