- Comment on [Discussion] What are your anti-comfort anime? 4 days ago:
That reminds me: I should revisit Akira and I should not revisit Perfect Blue. Used to watch both regularly as I only had so many VHS tapes back then.

Looks like they’re both takes on historical knights, e.g. a French knight

The one the title means is probably Bible Black in case someone doesn’t know how to be a good little Christian.
- Comment on Does it bother you when you figure out an anime's recipe? 1 week ago:
Lots of romance anime are high school, beach episode, culture festival, fireworks, class trip, entrance exams. If I’m out of better stuff, I’ll put up with it. I was realizing the other day watching one that I thought was more complex simply because different characters had different motivations. It’s such a low bar at this point.
Shonen just all are making a different system for power creep to happen. I tend to stay away from them as it’s just not interesting. Hunter x Hunter is an example that started off decently but then introduced nen and types of users and just escalates from there. The Bomber guy was just the worst with his convoluted rules during Greed Island arc.
- Comment on Why are most household appliances single voltage? 4 weeks ago:
Neato. Apparently it had to do with when each grid bought its starting supplies. Generators bought from the US were 60hz and Germany were 50.

Tell us more about the Japanese grid, please.
- Comment on [Discussion] Who is the best introverted romance protagonist? 5 weeks ago:
Does Hachiman from Oregairu count? He might for into more misanthropy than introversion, but I like that he’s capable and the non-standard way he goes about finding solutions.
Oreki from Hyouka seems like more of a standard introvert that gets dragged out of his shell by an extrovert. He’s depicted as intelligent and capable of lateral thinking. I adore how his realization about his feelings is done.

- Comment on What is the difference in intention between this community and no stupid questions? 2 months ago:
That’s just a reference to Hot Shots. But they’re the rectangular metal things with lids that have a spot for those fuel cans underneath that get lit to keep the food warm. There are round ones, too, but I’ve never seen one of those IRL. chafing dish
- Comment on What is the difference in intention between this community and no stupid questions? 2 months ago:
no stupid questions is to allow you to ask things you might be embarrassed about, like things you “should” know already as an adult, mildly taboo topics that people generally aren’t willing to talk about in polite company, or questions that might come charged with a bit of controversy. I’m sure that doesn’t cover all the cases, but that’s the general vibe I get.
Ask: what’s the velocity of a swallow carrying a coconut? I can’t find an answer after a few days of research and it’s really hard to catch one to attach.
nostupidquestions: Is anybody else attracted to sparrows?
nostupidquestions: what’s a chafing dish for?
- Comment on This game just appeals to the male power fantasy and it's disgusting 2 months ago:
Yep. That show was pretty screwed up in a lot of ways and I didn’t mean to imply sexy, I meant to point out whoever made or used the image as a meme is leaning on their dynamic and the framing to do the implication. Unsuccessfully, apparently.

Good thing he’s not a giant corporation.
Does he think Wolfenstein needs to be told from the other side?
- Comment on Valve must address swastikas and other hate on Steam, writes US senator in a letter to Gabe Newell 1 year ago:
It’s a real problem. I’ve seen forum posts calling for the extermination of minorities.
- Comment on Valve must address swastikas and other hate on Steam, writes US senator in a letter to Gabe Newell 1 year ago:
You’re apparently unfamiliar with the concept of the open letter or writing to a specific person instead of just spewing garbage out a general agency. It’s not uncommon.
The Hinduism excuse really doesn’t fly most of the time, especially when we’re talking about hate speech. It’s pedantic and weaselly and does not pass the smell test.
Unsafe could mean, for an examples I have seen on steam forums, that minorities get harassed or told they should be exterminated. Just like Nazis should be scared to be in public IRL, they shouldn’t have safe spaces online either.
I know by your language you already have your mind made up and probably have a real strong opinion on ethics in gaming journalism, but extremism is a real problem.
I don’t really want to engage with people like you, so I won’t be responding further, but I didn’t really want to leave your bs unchallenged.
