I’ve been posting about it periodically.
I’m pushing the “buy Canadian” angle by promoting Fedecan, the non-profit running Lemmy.ca and now Pixelfed.ca.
Also, reminding people that American companies are making money off your data, so these servers are Canadian owned social media, in a way.
I still have no followers on Pixelfed, but 🤷♂️

I’m thinking for more like an interactive display at a museum or something of the sort… something you’re not meant to see the whole picture at once.
Maybe an “aquarium” “full” of extinct species that you could walk around. 🤷♂️

8k would be useful for giant screens that people are going to see up close.
Also, if your target is a lower resolution you can shoot wide and adjust your framing later without missing your target res. Probably most useful for nature programs.
But yeah, you don’t need it at home.

Yeah apartments don’t usually pay for water or heat where I live. It’s also a huge waste of water
- Comment on Is it cheaper to use a plug-in oil radiator to eat an individual room, or run the central heater to heat an individual room and living room? 4 months ago:
Not really an answer to your question, but if you live somewhere that freezes think about where your pipes are.
You gotta heat the bathroom and kitchen and any other rooms that may have pipes running through them.
Or, you could leave your taps trickling, but that expensive too.

Before, “couple weeks” is more like 5 months at this point now that I think about it.
I don’t mind some of it much, but the obvious culture-war bait is infuriating.

I know Facebook and Reddit are in cahoots.
I went to visit Reddit a couple weeks back to read the Deadpool & Wolverine comments, but forgot to use my container tab and now Facebook feeds me endless Marvel related stuff.
A lot of it is culture war bullshit too. Hmmmmm 🤔
