- Comment on Why English language is sometimes "lazy", sometimes not 4 days ago:
A plaintiff, for example, is the person lodging a complaint. Doesn’t have to be a legal complaint, but in legal terms it makes it very clear who we’re talking about.
I think the OP was wondering why that person wouldn’t just be called a complaintlodger. Like with firefighter.

- Comment on Photographers Push Back on Facebook's 'Made with AI' Labels Triggered by Adobe Metadata. Do you agree “‘AI was used in this image’ is completely different than ‘Made with AI’”? 1 week ago:
That’s the difference between “by” and “with”.

Yeah just adding a link to your comment doesn’t negate the TOS of where you post it.
- Comment on Why do passports need to be signed to be valid? 2 months ago:
Had to make a passport for my (at the time) 1yo. It had “not able” where the signature would go.

Ah, so 145k cubic feet.
- Comment on Is the combined knowledge of humanity safer than it has ever been? 2 months ago:
True, but communication would be a bitch. Sure, the info might be stored somewhere, but finding out who and what and where and getting it to where it needs to be, without electricity? That’d be a bitch.
- Comment on Is the combined knowledge of humanity safer than it has ever been? 2 months ago:
145 cubic feet seems like not a lot. Archives of what? Books?
- Comment on Do straight lines and flat planes exist in nature? 3 months ago:
Well, yes. My point exactly.
- Comment on Do straight lines and flat planes exist in nature? 3 months ago:
It depends on where you draw the line (heh) on “straightness” and “flatness”. Some planes on gems or geodes are pretty flat, but probably not perfectly flat. Another example is a spider’s web between two points. That’s a pretty straight line if it’s taut, but again, probably not exactly perfect.
- Comment on Is there an easy software to automatically Animate one image morphing into another image? 4 months ago:
You can help powerpoint recognize which shapes would morph into one another by giving them the same name in the Selection pane.
- Comment on Why do (desktop) PC have so few USB ports ? 4 months ago:
You have games on an external SSD? That seems odd to me.
- Comment on Are there artisticly vivid, custom Excel skins? 4 months ago:
A good excel sheet is a thing of beauty. I made one for my family’s finances which takes everything into account. Automatically calculates net from gross salary, child benefits based on number of kids, the percentage we both have to transfer to our joint account every month, etc. It gives us so much clarity about our finances.

It might be helpful to know what kind of walls you have. What is the material, do they have space that can be filled with insulation material?

I’m amazed at the concrete on top of it as well. Normally (in my house) it would be the other way around.

- Comment on Is there something that helps digest a cheese pizza? 6 months ago:
because a pizza is often a bit much for one person
Take note that this is only the case in the US, where portion sizes have grown to such insane proportions that one pizza does not equal one person anymore.

Yeah that’s mainly the reason. Most new phones (I think for at least 5 years now?) Have the function to detect being in a pocket. Mainly through the brightness sensor.
