- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 1 month ago:
Yessss. I had a Nexus 6P and the back fingerprint reader was amazing. Still probably the best phone I’ve had.
- Comment on Does the GOP Stick Together so tightly to hide the fact that a large majority of them are involved in Pedophilia? 1 month ago:
Authoritarians probably shouldn’t be allowed in positions of power.
Isn’t the old saying that the ones who crave power are least suited for it?
- Comment on American tourists visiting the EU, what do you think of it? 2 months ago:
Once again, Europe is not a single country so all these things vary wildly from country to country.
- Comment on American tourists visiting the EU, what do you think of it? 2 months ago:
Where else but Rome?
I’m sorry but you cannot be serious. Europe is a huge and varied continent and we’re just supposed to assume Rome is top of the list?

- Comment on Why does the USA have so few legal protections for ordinary people, and how can we change that? 2 months ago:
I assume it’s a surcharge on their rent for the fact that they have a pet.
- Comment on If lemmy.world became the biggest in the fediverse with a user base that could rival Reddit. Would it become monetized? 2 months ago:

- Comment on Why English language is sometimes "lazy", sometimes not 4 months ago:
A plaintiff, for example, is the person lodging a complaint. Doesn’t have to be a legal complaint, but in legal terms it makes it very clear who we’re talking about.
I think the OP was wondering why that person wouldn’t just be called a complaintlodger. Like with firefighter.

- Comment on Photographers Push Back on Facebook's 'Made with AI' Labels Triggered by Adobe Metadata. Do you agree “‘AI was used in this image’ is completely different than ‘Made with AI’”? 4 months ago:
That’s the difference between “by” and “with”.

- Comment on What is the Anti Commercial-Al license and why do people keep adding it to their comments? 6 months ago:
Yeah just adding a link to your comment doesn’t negate the TOS of where you post it.
- Comment on Why do passports need to be signed to be valid? 6 months ago:
Had to make a passport for my (at the time) 1yo. It had “not able” where the signature would go.
- Comment on Is the combined knowledge of humanity safer than it has ever been? 7 months ago:
Ah, so 145k cubic feet.
- Comment on Is the combined knowledge of humanity safer than it has ever been? 7 months ago:
True, but communication would be a bitch. Sure, the info might be stored somewhere, but finding out who and what and where and getting it to where it needs to be, without electricity? That’d be a bitch.
- Comment on Is the combined knowledge of humanity safer than it has ever been? 7 months ago:
145 cubic feet seems like not a lot. Archives of what? Books?
- Comment on Do straight lines and flat planes exist in nature? 7 months ago:
Well, yes. My point exactly.
- Comment on Do straight lines and flat planes exist in nature? 7 months ago:
It depends on where you draw the line (heh) on “straightness” and “flatness”. Some planes on gems or geodes are pretty flat, but probably not perfectly flat. Another example is a spider’s web between two points. That’s a pretty straight line if it’s taut, but again, probably not exactly perfect.
- Comment on Is there an easy software to automatically Animate one image morphing into another image? 8 months ago:
You can help powerpoint recognize which shapes would morph into one another by giving them the same name in the Selection pane.
- Comment on Why do (desktop) PC have so few USB ports ? 8 months ago:
You have games on an external SSD? That seems odd to me.
- Comment on Are there artisticly vivid, custom Excel skins? 8 months ago:
A good excel sheet is a thing of beauty. I made one for my family’s finances which takes everything into account. Automatically calculates net from gross salary, child benefits based on number of kids, the percentage we both have to transfer to our joint account every month, etc. It gives us so much clarity about our finances.
