- Comment on India to mandate USB-C connectors on smartphones and laptops by 2026 4 days ago:
Yea that’s a valid concern. But if a new standard ever get’s invented that is clearly better the law can easily be switched. And if it doesn’t… USB-C is still more than fine.
- Comment on India to mandate USB-C connectors on smartphones and laptops by 2026 4 days ago:
Yea but that can be fixed by improving the current standard, not by changing the shape.
- Comment on India to mandate USB-C connectors on smartphones and laptops by 2026 4 days ago:
Previous connectors had inherent flaws. The USB-C connector is sturdy, is easy to use etc. But even if we had made the micro-usb connector the only legal connector, it wouldn’t have been the end of the world. Existing standards can be improved instead of making new shapes each time.
- Comment on India to mandate USB-C connectors on smartphones and laptops by 2026 4 days ago:
Why would the form factor of the connector need to be different to improve it?

As far as I understand, the Mac lineup don’t have screens, the IMacs are stationary and do have a screen, the MacBooks are the laptops.

I think it’s also just generally a good thing for them. I’m way more hesitant to buy stuff from humble and fanatical because I can’t return stuff, so I rather pay a bit more to get it through steam.

They’ll merge it with yt shorts, then rename yt short to tiktok (new) then separate the two again and then shut down tiktok and 1 year later yt shorts as well.

Yea that’s what happens if the company at least tries to make it repairable and not made by exploited people.

Just chiming in here: there are at the moment some problems with federation. I’m an admin on LW, and generally we remove spam pretty quickly but it currently doesn’t federate quickly. We are working on solutions that temporarily fix it till the lemmy devs themselves fix it.

Greenhouses are my weird obsession. Probably not very useful for most colonies, but just look so nice.

As far as I understand they had prepared a pretty big warchest, and gas is still worth a lot and is being sold to countries that didn’t commit to sanctions (like China and India).

I meant to speak as part of the admin team here on lemmy.world. If I didn’t make that clear, I apologize for that, I guess.
You are accusing me of things I didn’t do in my mind, did you really expect me to not defend myself? I am not angry or anything, just confused about this whole ordeal.

Okay, so I read through some of the replies and I think I know what exchange you are referring to (not gonna doxx your ofcourse). I was honestly trying to ascertain if that mod had abused their power. You spammed the accusation through different communities, which is against the rules. I removed those comments, but I was still trying to work with you to investigate that particular mod.

I am not, haha. I’m was appointed by Antik, I’m way to dumb to start my own instance.

Mmm? I don’t remember ever scolding someone. If you feel like I did that was probably me being Dutch. Could you specify what I said that made you angry?

- Comment on How to handle community mod abuse? 5 months ago:
You did the right thing by contacting us via info@lemmy.world. We, the admins and the community team, work hard to ensure bad faith mods get removed. Our processes to handle such cases will probably improve over time.

Well cheers to reddit for having a bad UI then, we love having you here.
I really hope Lemmy grows out to also fill in the small inactive communities, a social media without corporate incentives to milk out the users has so much potential.
