Heh, is 500cc the maximum you can do?
- Comment on Left 4 Dead co-creator is directing a mysterious co-op shooter for JJ Abrams' production company, and Sony's going to publish it: "We hope to deliver a bold, innovative experience" 1 week ago:
Not a huge fan of multiplayer games, but can be fun with friends.
As for people who don’t like live service games, Sony has mentioned multiple times that the budget for live service games is completely separate from single player games. The issue was that they previously put their good single player studios to making these games, as long as they get proper third party or specialised studios for these and leave their first party studios for first party, I am happy.
- Comment on Ron Gilbert cancels RPG project due to lack of support and funding 1 week ago:
“It’s either a passion project you spent ten years on, or you need a bunch of money to be able to hire people and resources”
- Comment on Day 501 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 1 week ago:
Yeah, that will also require more work and animations for each feature like this. Much easier to do in a game like this.
- Comment on Day 501 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 1 week ago:
Ah, okay. Thanks for the info!
- Comment on Day 501 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 1 week ago:
Heh, true. When I first looked at it after hearing so much about it I thought it was a wrong game.
- Comment on Day 501 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 2 weeks ago:
Wow, it’s weird to realise that there is so much depth and features in a game that look like this 😀

Ooh, a day late but still, congratulations on 500 posts!

Oooh, I didn’t even notice, 500 in 2 days!
- Comment on Games that I finished this year so far. Probably the best year of gaming for me since 2007 3 weeks ago:
You don’t have to finish all the games. It’s okay to drop games you aren’t enjoying. In the long run, time is a much more scarce commodity than money.

That’s a nice list. Did you finish all the games you started? Or drop some games too?
- Comment on If every video game was to be destroyed but you had the chance to save five games, what would you choose to save? 3 weeks ago:
JRPGs can be annoying to play multiple times.
Civ 6 (or some other strategy game like Age of Empires) and Factorio are great choice for this though.
- Comment on Fatekeeper - Official Gameplay Reveal Trailer 3 weeks ago:
This looks great. It may scratch that Skyrim itch.
- Comment on Day 489 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 3 weeks ago:
Yeah. I think it’s because no matter how much you improve, you keep learning new stuff to make your code better, so it always feel like what you have already written is a mess.
Also, obligatory comic about code quality:

Heh, don’t worry, that’s how everyone starts.

Ooh, I would love to see your commands / scripts, if you are willing to put the on some day.

Oh yeah, the modern era in Black Flag era was pretty meh. Haven’t played any AC game after that so no idea about those.
- Comment on Sony cracks down on Concord custom servers, issues DMCA takedowns on gameplay videos 4 weeks ago:
So DMCA takedowns are only for gameplay videos, they haven’t sent any takedown (or any other) notice to whoever is hosting / running / developing the custom server code.
It will be interesting to see how it progresses.

Well, as long as you are having fun! 😀
- Comment on Winter burrow SBI controversy 4 weeks ago:
Yeah, I try to make Lemmy a welcoming place for everyone, at least where I can, so no excuses for that.
Have fun!
- Comment on Day 483 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 4 weeks ago:
But that would change the format of the title! And while it has evolved over the time, that would feel so weird!
Also, it’s sometimes fun to see the featured picture and guess what the game is 😀

I guess large library size can be a contributing factor too. I have tons of games in my backlog and not enough time, so prefer shorter and tighter experiences, which can sometimes be difficult since my favourite genre is RPG, but I have lost interest in games that doesn’t respect your time, which is most open world games.
There are always exceptions though, just got a Platinum for Ghost of Tsushima few months back. Though I think that only happened cause a friend of mine was also playing at the same time, so discussing the things he has done or I have done kept the interest going for much longer.
- Comment on Winter burrow SBI controversy 4 weeks ago:
You are right, it contributed nothing to the post except adding some toxicity, my apologies.
Welcome to Lemmy!

I liked the game when I played it and I never saw the Haytham twist coming either, I mean until the reveal it themselves. Also don’t remember that sign on his back.
I don’t think I have the stamina for these games anymore. I played Black Flag a few years back but didn’t like it and Black Flag is considered one of the best AC game by everyone.

This is pretty much why I can’t play much PC games either (even though there are some genres I love that work bes on PC). Handheld works best, or sitting on a couch in front of TV.
I love tablets as a good general purpose device, but don’t have much experience with remote play. Just check how well it works with controllers and the latency / lag.

We all go through time like that. If you like single player games, what helped me was getting a Switch (I had almost quit gaming before that), the ability to play on a handheld which you can pause (put in sleep) anywhere is a godsend. Everyone is different though, but can be worth a try. You can try getting a SteamDeck, and see if that works for you.
At the end of the day, if playing short rounds of Death by Daylight is what you enjoy the most, nothing wrong with just keep doing that.
