You don’t have to finish all the games. It’s okay to drop games you aren’t enjoying. In the long run, time is a much more scarce commodity than money.

That’s a nice list. Did you finish all the games you started? Or drop some games too?
- Comment on If every video game was to be destroyed but you had the chance to save five games, what would you choose to save? 4 days ago:
JRPGs can be annoying to play multiple times.
Civ 6 (or some other strategy game like Age of Empires) and Factorio are great choice for this though.

This looks great. It may scratch that Skyrim itch.

Yeah. I think it’s because no matter how much you improve, you keep learning new stuff to make your code better, so it always feel like what you have already written is a mess.
Also, obligatory comic about code quality:

Heh, don’t worry, that’s how everyone starts.

Ooh, I would love to see your commands / scripts, if you are willing to put the on some day.

Oh yeah, the modern era in Black Flag era was pretty meh. Haven’t played any AC game after that so no idea about those.
- Comment on Sony cracks down on Concord custom servers, issues DMCA takedowns on gameplay videos 1 week ago:
So DMCA takedowns are only for gameplay videos, they haven’t sent any takedown (or any other) notice to whoever is hosting / running / developing the custom server code.
It will be interesting to see how it progresses.

Well, as long as you are having fun! 😀
- Comment on Winter burrow SBI controversy 1 week ago:
Yeah, I try to make Lemmy a welcoming place for everyone, at least where I can, so no excuses for that.
Have fun!

But that would change the format of the title! And while it has evolved over the time, that would feel so weird!
Also, it’s sometimes fun to see the featured picture and guess what the game is 😀

I guess large library size can be a contributing factor too. I have tons of games in my backlog and not enough time, so prefer shorter and tighter experiences, which can sometimes be difficult since my favourite genre is RPG, but I have lost interest in games that doesn’t respect your time, which is most open world games.
There are always exceptions though, just got a Platinum for Ghost of Tsushima few months back. Though I think that only happened cause a friend of mine was also playing at the same time, so discussing the things he has done or I have done kept the interest going for much longer.

You are right, it contributed nothing to the post except adding some toxicity, my apologies.
Welcome to Lemmy!

Hmm… I was about to disregard this, but it’s only a day old account, so you might be right…

I liked the game when I played it and I never saw the Haytham twist coming either, I mean until the reveal it themselves. Also don’t remember that sign on his back.
I don’t think I have the stamina for these games anymore. I played Black Flag a few years back but didn’t like it and Black Flag is considered one of the best AC game by everyone.

This is pretty much why I can’t play much PC games either (even though there are some genres I love that work bes on PC). Handheld works best, or sitting on a couch in front of TV.
I love tablets as a good general purpose device, but don’t have much experience with remote play. Just check how well it works with controllers and the latency / lag.

We all go through time like that. If you like single player games, what helped me was getting a Switch (I had almost quit gaming before that), the ability to play on a handheld which you can pause (put in sleep) anywhere is a godsend. Everyone is different though, but can be worth a try. You can try getting a SteamDeck, and see if that works for you.
At the end of the day, if playing short rounds of Death by Daylight is what you enjoy the most, nothing wrong with just keep doing that.
- Comment on Day 475 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 2 weeks ago:
It’s interesting when games do that, though as someone who rarely replays game, I never really notice these things.

Oooh, Max Payne!
I played them when they were released, and they were such great games for their time. Don’t remember much about the story though, some dream sequences, and there was some subway in start of the first game I believe, remember trying the slow-mo from different angles there.
Looking forward to play the remakes!

If you don’t mind playing alone, do try Subnautica, everyone claims it’s best of the genre, at least it was when it was released.
- Comment on Day 469 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 3 weeks ago:
It’s in my backlog, but I couldn’t get into Subnautica (I enjoyed it while playing, but didn’t have any urge to play it again), so the genre is probably not for me. I can imagine it can be fun with right people though.

We can treat the dimension hop as Christmas special crossover episode 😀

Is “Fireman Stripper” a sustainable job in Zombie apocalypse? Just curious…
Oooh, Cable is back! According to the lore, do the characters just move from one world to another or is that some other guy with some other adopted son Cable?

Mainly play on console, but I’ll keep this in mind for future. Thanks for the tip.

That “Big Grey Guy” is one of the major reason I haven’t tried the game. And well the fact that I don’t like horror, but I am going to blame the Big Grey Guy!
