I don’t even like beans, but if I did this sounds like a way better texture than just beans by themselves. I don’t understand why people who enjoy them act like putting it on toast is weird.

Bloodthief is great, fast paced with an extremely high skill ceiling. Unlockables give you something to strive for and the level based structure makes it easy to quickly pick up and put down. Some other games I see people recommended here that I love are Signalis, Pseudoregalia, and Sayonara Wild Hearts.
Signalis is the best modern take on the old Resident Evil formula I’ve ever played, hands down. Pseudoregalia is a blast to play, the movement and tech in that game are unrivaled. I thought about comparing it to some Mario games, but that wouldn’t do it justice. Sayonara Wild Hearts is short but beautiful, there is nothing out there like it and it probably has some deeper meaning to read into.
- Comment on TRIMUI Brick Hammer, a weirdly named but beautiful handheld 6 days ago:
Oh yeah, that is exactly what I want out of a handheld! And thank you so much for the link, I didn’t realize the firmware these things ship with is so out of date. If I can get the battery percentage working thanks to this, you’re a real life saver.

Looks nice. I am not a huge fan of the form factor though, I prefer the GBA style layout. I have a RetroSnap Play I got as a gift, I wonder how it compares. By biggest issue is it can never tell me the battery percentage, and it drains quickly when I close it with a game running. This combo sucks and makes me constantly nervous about keeping it charged so it won’t shut off in the middle of an important game.

Even the wrong non-isp routers are ridiculous compared to OpenWrt capable ones. You’re telling me I’m paying a huge premium to get a cutting edge Nighthawk, and then they shove a subscription service in my face to use any of these features? Let alone the security implications of having all your traffic routed through proprietary software. No thank you.

Tony Hawk and Final Fantasy Tactics! Absolutely terrible at both.

I finally got around to it, the ps1 is an absolute beast. There was some rusting on the shielding but the PCB was no worse for wear. Didn’t even need to replace the laser.

I struggle with this every day. I have friends that are far from being the sharpest tool in the shed, but still friends. However they’re so emotionally unintelligent that they’re willing to tear apart any friendship they have over a single difference of opinion… Or by arguing against literal, undeniable facts. These relationships are exhausting to maintain.

Yeah it makes the first experience with a Meta headset extremely awkward. You boot it up they and they really want you to go into these worlds. Okay, so I did. Immediately I’m bombarded by the sound of 20 unsupervised children raiding a virtual McDonald’s. Okay, maybe I should find an 18+ world and try that. This was also a mistake.

How was your manager not happy with this? You not only talked them into a purchase but a purchase into an ecosystem that would likely generate future revenue for the company. There is nothing but positives here?

I know it’s hard, but you’ll get through this. One day at a time, step by step, things will get easier. Some days it might not feel like you’re making any progress; Some days you’ll feel like you’re moving backwards. But time heals all wounds. You’ve got this, eventually you won’t even remember their comment existed. Stay. Strong. Keep fighting.

Off topic, but this is why I love Lemmy; Look at this comment section. Many people here have a logical stance, either for or against the genAI use. Both sides are making good points. Reading through the article alongside the comments, my opinion was really teetering. It’s nice to be able to come in with an open mind and be challenged like this.
- Comment on Sometimes devs intentionally punish players for struggling with the game 1 month ago:
I believe they could have done this between the easy and normal difficulties because there’s not much of a difference between the two other than health regen and numbers for you and the enemies. But two reasons I see that they didn’t.
Madhouse difficulty changes so much it really wouldn’t be possible for you to swap difficulties mid playthrough, so maybe they just ignored it for the other ones. Or, the reason I think is most likely, RE7 has adaptive difficulty. So even if you’re on normal and struggling, things will get nerfed or you will get buffed after dying a few times.
If you had the preorder bonus(?) it unlocks Madhouse from the start which I guess could be a trap if you’re not ready for it and pick it.

This reminds me of something I did when I was a kid. I put together a Windows XP shortcut that would shutdown the computer on a delay and pop up a message that told you that you were infected along with how to cancel the shutdown command, if you were quick enough.
Well, I was showing my friends in the computer lab and the teacher came up behind me and saw the message. He freaked out, I freaked out, so I didn’t get it canceled before the PC shutdown.
All of the sudden I was in the principals office accused of uploading a worm to their network. Coincidentally, there were issues effecting their entire network and I was the easiest target.
To this day I’m still furious at that teacher. Instead of listening to what I had to say and realizing it was a simple windows shortcut, he berated me and told me it WAS a virus because anything that shuts down a computer like that is.
He could have taken a look and been impressed that someone at that age had the ingenuity to put it together, but instead assumed the worse and killed my passion for computers for many years after. I have half a mind to find his contact information and tell him that he was, in fact, wrong and what that did to kill my passion.

That is awesome! Small world, both with the same idea on the same platform. Previous homeowner left a pink rotary phone downstairs, thing is worth some serious cash in working condition. I thought about getting one of those base stations that turn your cell into a landline and hooking it up, for the full experience you know?
