I’m at the halfway point of Alan Wake 2, picking it back up after a bit of a hiatus. I like the story a lot and how it’s unfolding… Good acting and art direction, love the vibes… but gameplay is not super interesting to me. (っ- ‸ - ς) so I kinda got distracted with other stuff…

Nice name suggestion!
As far as I’m aware, males get the lanky look after they reach maturity and molt for the last time, since feeding stops being a priority for them; pedipalps also change and thats an sure sign of a mature male T. I think they are indistinguishable before that?
This one was actually pretty skinny when that pic was taken since she had recently molted . So far all of my mature T’s have turned out to be females so…

My bad, that’s the flash reflecting on the urticating hairs. under mormal light conditions those leg segments look just the tiniest bit lighter that the upper leg.

Woooah where did you get your tarantula sexing powers? (Sexing them is a tad difficult) :P This ome is indeed a female. Care to suggest a name for her?

I find it cool that you have such a solid group of friends to game with, it looks like you guys have tons of fun! ( I’m envious). Some 14 years ago, when I got casually into gaming; my crowd were mostly just drinking buddies, so sadly that didn’t stand the test of time…

Back In the day up untill the 80’s-90’s (at least in my country) many show dubs were fully localized, specially cartoons, since tons of english humour / puns didn’t translate well; media took a sort of life of it’s own, but most dubs were really good. But that has fallen out of style a lot since the 2000s, which is natural. Sadly we also copied the trend of using famous people instead of professionals to do dubbing aaand that killed it or me.
Lacalization is not always bad. I get that media loses it’s original intent because of it. But there have been great examples of localization, like the asterix comics.

Not everything is for everyone, of course. But I argue that everything, any game genre should be accesible for anyone who wants to try, and like with anything else, people will filter themselves out if it’s not for them.
I love soulslikes, I love the struggle. but I also happen to be intimately familiar with disability, and I know that disabilities and people with disabilities are all different. A blanket accesibility solution like difficulty opions would just level the barrier of entry for some people with a disability. That’s what I’m arguing should exist. So more people get to experience this piece of art. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ that’s just my take.
Also, I’m not assuming you to be any kind of person, it’s just the most used argument against difficulty options I’ve seen.

Parrying is not mandatory in any of those games, maybe try approaching them differently? Also, invest in endurance, problem solved!
- Comment on Gaming Pet Peeves 4 weeks ago:
You are failing to see that people with some sort of disability are already against impossible odds, not only in the game but in life. They already know that feeling you talk about, why not let them partake in this piece of art? It will still be a challenge.
If your worry is that normies would exploit this and not “earn” their victory, it also does not affect your experience of the game at all. Just like nobody is going to force you to do a SL1 run - that’s a choice-, why not have that the other way arround? :)

Oh I see, oct 7th. it appeared as only a trial when I looked. But I think you are correct, better to not rush and experience the story right. Me wanting to jump in right away was mostly a budget thing. But I’ll wair give control a shot instead.

Coelacanth coming though with the good info, as usual! dude you are becoming one of my fav users in lemmy.
Humm…interesting, so, the answer is more complex than I expected haha. I’m not against going through the previous games at all, I asked bacause I thought AW2 was going to be in Ps+ but, I’m seeing I was mislead >:/ however, Control is, and I also heard is very good, so hum, maybe I’ll pivot and try that first.
What need is to play and actually finish something that’s not a soulslike or adjacent this year, I’m thinking maybe the time constraint of it being on a subscription will certainly help me not abandon the playthrough? ( But there’s also Demon Souls and Tymesia on Ps+ Damn it!!! ) we’ll see how this goes. Thanks a lot!

Yes, I’m playing it on ps+ right now. If you have access to that, I’d say go for it!
