- Comment on 90% of Games Developers Already Using AI in Workflows, According to New Google Cloud Research 6 days ago:
I mean, it makes complete sense. Photoshop has had ‘magic fill’ for a long time and that’s basically just stable diffusion inpainting.
I’ve had a lot of customers of mine using AI tools to be able to create things they’d never have been able to hire anyone to do, or be able to learn themselves.
It’s really easy too, for an artist that only does 2D shading, etc - to convert their 2D character to 3D and get textures, while cleaning up and continuing the work. Sites like Meshy are really good for quick prototypes, and then you can swap them out later for fully produced models. Especially indie games where someone might not have the artistic chops, but they have the programming chops.

Bad news, their patent expired and they in turn, trademarked the bricks. They sue everyone under trademark now, instead of patent infringement.

It was a quick example for someone who didn’t understand the concept you dipshit.
- Comment on I swear they’ve changed but I haven’t 2 weeks ago:
It was just an example dipshit. Ain’t nobody got time to actually compile shit like that.
- Comment on I swear they’ve changed but I haven’t 2 weeks ago:
You’re on the tippy top of the internet iceberg. All of the corporate-facing shit.
- Comment on I swear they’ve changed but I haven’t 2 weeks ago:
I see the same severity that I always have - the issue is Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Vine, Tiktok, etc are all just finally sinking into the swamp that is the internet. It’s all been under the surface, you just never participated in the real internet, and it’s starting to invade your spaces now is all.
- Comment on I swear they’ve changed but I haven’t 2 weeks ago:
It’s clear you’ve never been a real big part of the internet. It hasn’t changed. It’s always been “the wild west”, full of misinformation, maliciousness, callousness, etc.

This isn’t right - this all assumes he gets to keep his money. Now take $1500/month in rent, $200 in food, SS, sales tax, etc.
- Comment on How abnormal is it for a mother to be her son a fleshlight for his 18th birthday? 3 weeks ago:
I’m pretty fucked up as a person, and I think this would be weird as all fuck. I think most people consider fleshlights pretty taboo to begin with.

Seconding Caddy – It’s as close to it gets for “Just works”. It handles all the certs, it’s easy to refresh and add a subdomain instantly, handles wildcard domains, and the config file is dead simple to understand.

There’s just this weird shit everyone is into now where they collect as many alphabet letters as they can. The more alphabet you have, the more powerful you are.
- Comment on goodbye plex 1 month ago:
The only thing that plex has over jellyfin at the moment (in my opinion) is the simple sign on and user options that allow users to have their own usernames and not have to know anything about reverse-proxying a domain for jellyfin access. It’s that little bit of back-end that you have to set up that’s the problem for the ‘normie’ users that a lot of plex admins cater to. That, and there’s some holes in where the jellyfin app is available.

Exactly. These machines can get pretty tight tolerances, but 0.05mm – this is reaching into ‘high precision’ machining territory, and there is no real reason for that with these machines.
- Comment on Just keep typing, wage slaves 1 month ago:
If I recall correctly, they DID call some state agency and everyone was evacuated the next day and the building shut down “indefinitely”.
- Comment on Just keep typing, wage slaves 1 month ago:
This was a Reddit post like…idk, 15 years ago? It’s so wild seeing it show up again.
- Comment on 3D Printing Bed Levelling (Traming) - Simple Concept 1 month ago:
If you’re having this much trouble leveling your bed, and think that 0.05mm makes the difference in adhering or not - then your problem isn’t the bed.

It wasn’t meant in a negative way - I’ve just seen “Love Stuck” a couple times on lemmy and wanted to make sure you knew the correct version. You’re not the first I’ve seen call it that for whatever reason so it was just kind of a general correction so others didn’t bone-apple-tea the phrase themselves.

Love-struck.

You must only retain chat logs as long as necessary for the operation of Your Services or to improve Your Services
I’m not storing chat logs.
do not do so for the purpose of creating public databases or websites, or, in general, to collect information about Twitch’s end users.
Not creating any kind of public database either. It’s a private tool.
You must enable, and process, all requests by end users to block, discontinue, delete, or otherwise opt-out of any retention of chat logs for Your Services.
Again - Not storing chat logs. They are processed for information and that information inferred.
- Comment on What exactly is a self-hosted small LLM actually good for (<= 3B) 2 months ago:
So this wasn’t a post actually asking what a small LLM was good for, it was just an opportunity you could use to dump on LLM usage I take it.
- Comment on What exactly is a self-hosted small LLM actually good for (<= 3B) 2 months ago:
There’s not actually that much code. It’s like 8 lines for an AI ‘agent’, and maybe another 16 lines for ‘tools’, and I’m using Streamlink for grabbing the audio stream, and pulseaudio has a ‘monitor’ device you can use to listen to what’s playing on the speakers.

You build a system to identify everyone in the park and collect recordings of their conversations? Absolutely a problem, depending on the jurisdiction.
Literally not. The police use this right now to record your location and time seen using license plates all over the nation - with private corporations providing the service.
- Comment on What exactly is a self-hosted small LLM actually good for (<= 3B) 2 months ago:
I’m not storing their data. I’m feeding it to an LLM which infers things and storing that data.
- Comment on What exactly is a self-hosted small LLM actually good for (<= 3B) 2 months ago:
Yes. The small LLM isn’t retrieving data, it’s just understanding context of text enough to know what “Facts” need to be written to a file.
