- Comment on Fairphone announces the €599 Fairphone 6, with a 6.31" 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, and enhanced modularity with 12 swappable parts 5 hours ago:
These points were all disproved long ago. The jack is a the same thickness as the display.
The reason is because BT headphones have a much higher margin, and need to be replaced every few years because of the battery (if not already replaced because they were lost or damaged).
It’s just a dumb cash grab.
- Comment on Socialism is the actual teaching of Jesus 1 day ago:
LOL at your downvotes. I went to Catholic school and was taught BY PRIESTS AND NUNS that Jesus probably wasn’t one person but a composite of numerous roving preachers (a fad at the time). Oh, and early Christianity probably started as a mushroom cult. If the Catholics (Catholics!) could learn to apply reason to religion anyone can.
- Comment on We Should Immediately Nationalize SpaceX and Starlink 2 weeks ago:
Starlink should be globalized. A planet only needs one low-altitude orbiting communications network. Better to standardize the technology and platform and let them contribute to one system than to have a dozen identical competing systems crashing into each other and fucking things up for everyone.

Or the 2A people are perfectly content with their place in a fascist society.
- Comment on Stack overflow is almost dead 5 weeks ago:
Stack Overflow hasn’t been useful for at least 10 years, if not longer.
The flagged “correct” answer is almost always wrong due to idiotic power-users and the vast horde of idiots who upvote obviously wrong answers because they’re bootlickers. The real answer is usually buried in between the posts by gatekeepers, pedants, idiots with something to prove, wannabe admins, egotistical idiots, the highly opinionated technologically insecure, etc ad nauseam. Reddit is just as bad for tech questions, if not worse.
Since I started using LLMs (running on my own inference server) I haven’t used anything else for tech questions that wasn’t opinion-based. Much, much more useful, and it requires you to think seriously about the problem to come up with a good prompt – which often gives you the answer before you even finish the prompt.
- Comment on N the digital age, it's going to be harder for ICE agents to hide their identities than it was for Nazis trying to evade justice post WW2. 1 month ago:
We need a wiki where regular people can document and store evidence on the nazis, fascists and enablers currently destroying America. Not just ICE, but everyone. A place where sleuths can unmask and put a name on the worst of them. Where hackers can upload ICE payroll or employee databases. Perhaps even put together an interactive map showing where these people live so their neighbors can be safe.
Once the bastards see their names in print with proof of their crimes out in public perhaps they’ll realize how short their future is. Otherwise it’ll come in handy for the trials.
